30 AND COUNTING (NBC, New!) - Writer Justin Adler ("Better Off Ted") and director John Hamburg (I Love You, Man) are set to team for a domestic take on Chris Little and Tom Vinnicombe's U.K. series of the same name, about "three college friends who are convinced that while their 20s were a time of discovery and their 40s a time of responsibility, their 30s is the decade that will define them." Warner Bros. Television is behind the half-hour, which has a sizable penalty attached. Adler, Hamburg, Little and Vinnicombe then will executive produce alongside Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Bwark's Iain Morris. (Deadline.com)

THE LOTTERY (Lifetime/Warner Horizon; W: Timothy J. Sexton; D: Danny Cannon) - David Alpay ("The Vampire Diaries") is the latest to board the pilot, a drama set in a world destined for extinction and the ensuing national lottery that is held to decide the surrogates for 100 embryos that have been successfully fertilized. He'll play James, Alison's (Marley Shelton) colleague and current lab assistant. Lesley-Ann Brandt, Louise Lombard and Michael Graziadei also star. (Deadline.com)

TIN MAN (NBC/Universal; W: Ehren Kruger; D: D.J. Caruso) - D.J. Caruso (I Am Number Four) has been tapped to helm the futurist drama pilot, a "psychological crime thriller that focuses on a fugitive robot accused of first-degree murder, who may hold the key to the future of human evolution, and the young female public defender forced to fight for his cause." Kruger and his Bobker/Kruger Films patner Daniel Bobker are executive producing alongside John Glenn Entertainment's John Glenn. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - "Murder Police" co-creator David A. Goodman has inked a new overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television (Deadline.com); and Sprague Grayden will recur on "The Following" as "a tabloid reporter turned best-selling author" while Gregg Henry will guest as "a distinguished doctor who may have a dark secret" (TheWrap.com).
