NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED FOR THE "AMERICAN COMEDY AWARDS," AIRING MAY 15 ON NBC

Voting Is Open to the Public on NBC.com and Via the "American Comedy Awards" Facebook Voting App

NEW YORK - March 5, 2014 - NBC and Don Mischer Productions announced today the nominations for the "American Comedy Awards," airing May 15 (9-11 p.m. ET/PT) on NBC.

The "American Comedy Awards" is one of the only award shows in which the winners are determined through a combination of fan voting and voting among entertainment industry professionals.

"We are thrilled to recognize the amazing nominees for the American Comedy Awards in our first broadcast of this awards telecast on May 15," said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. "This special will be a true celebration of the best talent in comedy and is sure to be an evening filled with laughs."

Voting is now open, and the public is encouraged to help pick the winners in all 19 categories by voting online at http://www.nbc.com/american-comedy-awards/vote or on Facebook via the "American Comedy Awards" Facebook Voting App at https://apps.facebook.com/ac-awards/. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. ET/8:59 p.m. PT on March 18. You must be at least 13 years old to vote.

Nominations for the "American Comedy Awards" were voted by members of the "American Comedy Awards" Voting Committee, a panel consisting of 860 working professionals from the comedy community, including writers, performers, producers, directors and stand-ups.

The "American Comedy Awards" will honor those who have achieved new heights during the past year in both film and television, as well as pay tribute to some of comedy's most enduring personalities. The telecast will acknowledge the work of stand-ups, those who specialize in movies and the actors and actresses who are seen by millions on TV every week.

Comedy Central leads the nominations with a total of 12, followed by NBC with 11. In the film categories, "This Is the End" snagged 7 nominations, followed by "Nebraska" with 6. In the TV categories, NBC's "Parks and Recreation" leads all series with 6 nods, while "Key & Peele" and "Modern Family" follow with 5 nominations each.

The "American Comedy Awards" are produced by Don Mischer Productions. Emmy Award winner Don Mischer, Charlie Haykel and Juliane Hare serve as executive producers.
