IMPASTOR (TV Land, New!) - Christopher Vane ("Brickleberry") has scored a cast-contingent pilot order from the network for a new single-camera comedy about "a low-life on the run from his debts who hides away in a small town by conning them into thinking he's their newly hired gay pastor." Eric and Kim Tannenbaum are also on board to executive produce via their CBS Television Studios-based Tannenbaum Co. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - CBS has quietly canceled the taping of its comedy pilot "The Mistake" (AudiencesUnlimited.com); Jake Busey has been cast as Samuel Wallace, who recites the legendary admonition "Remember the Alamo," in History's mini-series "Texas Rising" (Deadline.com); Michael Fresco, fresh off helming ABC's "Manhattan Love Story," has inked a third consecutive deal with the network and ABC Studios to direct and executive produce a pilot next year (Deadline.com); and Brad Paisley will visit his real life wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley on the season finale of "Two and a Half Men" (TVGuide.com).
