Episode Preview Marks the First Time An MTV Scripted Series Will Debut Exclusively on the MTV App a Week Ahead of the Television Premiere on April 22 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT

New York, New York (April 15, 2014) - Building upon previous successes, MTV today premiered its newest scripted comedy series, "Faking It" exclusively on the MTV App ahead of the April 22nd premiere at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. This marks the first time a scripted series has debuted on the MTV app prior to its television premiere. Beginning today for 48 hours, fans can watch the full episode on the app on iOS, Android and Xbox 360 for Xbox Live Gold members in the U.S.

MTV's "Faking It" is a new romantic comedy about two best friends who love each other - in slightly different ways. After numerous failed attempts to become popular, the girls are mistakenly outed as lesbians, which launch them to instant celebrity status. Seduced by their newfound fame, Karma (Katie Stevens) and Amy (Rita Volk) decide to keep up their romantic ruse.

This marks the latest in a line of recent innovative experiments to deliver content to fans across a myriad of platforms. Recently, MTV made history when it released the entire series of "Wait Til Next Year" exclusively in the app a week before the first episode premiered on television. As a result, the series premiere drew an 8% uptick in P12-17, while week 2 P12-34 ratings grew +100%. Additionally, the preview generated a 47 percent increase in app downloads.

"Faking It" is Executive Produced by Carter Covington ("10 Things I Hate About You," "Greek" "Hart of Dixie"). The series was created by Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov. The pilot was Directed by Jamie Travis."Faking It" stars Katie Stevens as "Karma" ("American Idol"), Rita Volk as "Amy," Gregg Sulkin as "Liam" ("Wizards of Waverly Place"), Michael Willett as "Shane" ("G.B.F.") and Bailey Buntain as ?"Lauren" ("Bunheads").
