"BAD TEACHERS"

All-New Mini Series Premieres TUESDAY, APRIL 22 at 9/8c on Investigation Discovery

There are some teachers who don't play by the rules, who ruin lives instead of changing them for the better. They'll go dangerously beyond the lesson plan to fulfil their youthful fantasies and selfish desires, often dragging students down with them into a world of deceit and danger. The educators exposed in Investigation Discovery's new, three-part series BAD TEACHERS had been beloved by students, looked up to by faculty peers, and trusted by parents. Little did anyone know that their extra-curricular activities crossed the line into twisted chemistry, secret lust, shocking exploitation, and felony seduction. Interviews with former students, loved ones, and law enforcement paint a portrait of teachers who abused their power and found themselves on the wrong side of detention.

The premiere episode, Teacher's Pet (Tuesday, April 22 at 9/8c), profiles married high school English teacher Sharon Rutherford, an exemplary educator in Coffeeville, Ala., whom other teachers looked up to for her willingness to help students succeed. That was, until she underwent gastric bypass surgery and experienced a renewed self-confidence. Then instead of food, Rutherford craved male attention. Not long after the procedure, she seduced a 17-year-old student, and they soon engaged in a dangerous and illicit sexual affair. As the romance intensified, Rutherford became obsessed with her student lover and took drastic measures to ensure the taboo affair didn't end, even crashing his prom to check on him. It was soon discovered that the teen was only a pawn in her deadly game of love.

Upcoming episodes of BAD TEACHERS include:

Repeat Offender premieres Tuesday, April 29 at 9/8c

High-school band director Robert Hamberg is a married man, adored by his students and faculty peers, with a passion for music... and his 16-year-old drum major and star pupil. The pair engages in a forbidden sexual relationship until it breaks out in a scandal. He resigns, leaves his wife and two children, and then promptly marries the drum major. Two decades later, after the band director rebuilds his life and career, temptation presents itself again. Hamberg preys upon yet another student, but this time the illicit and illegal affair will send shockwaves throughout the community and have serious consequences.

Hot For Teacher premieres Tuesday, May 6 at 9/8c

Erin McLean is an attractive young English teacher at West High School in Knoxville, Tenn., who loves the attention she gets from male students. Stuck in an unhappy marriage, McLean falls for one of her handsome young students, a 17-year-old. Their seemingly innocent classroom flirtation develops into a scandalous, full-fledged love affair that infiltrates the home McLean shares with her husband and two children. The married teacher's selfish desires take over as she leads the naïve student on a dangerous journey with tragic consequences.

BAD TEACHERS is produced for Investigation Discovery by Atlas Media Corporation. For Atlas, Bruce David Klein and Lorri Leighton are executive producers and Lisa Bryant is co-executive producer.
