ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB, THE (ABC/ABC Studios; W: Stephanie Savage; D: Nick Cassavetes) - Kenneth Mitchell ("Switched at Birth") is the latest addition to the upcoming drama, which tells the true story of the women behind NASA's early astronauts and the struggles they face when their lives and families are catapulted into the spotlight overnight. He's set as "Wisconsin farm boy and WWII flyer Deke Slayton, one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts. When a medical condition prevents him from going into space, he becomes a powerful voice in the space program." Aaron McCusker, Azure Parsons, Bret Harrison, Desmond Harrington, Dominique McElligott, Erin Cummings, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Joel Johnstone, Odette Annable and Zoe Boyle also star. (TVLine.com)
SNOWFALL (Showtime, New!) - John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood) is developing a new drama at the pay channel about the beginnings of the crack cocaine epidemic in Los Angeles. Singleton and Eric Amadio will co-write the hour, "told through the eyes of a young black kid from Compton, a Mexican wrestler and a CIA agent charged with running money to the Contras," as well as direct. They'll likewise executive producer alongside Michael London and Underground Films' Trevor Engelson and Evan Silverberg. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Kat Likkel and John Hoberg, most recently co-executive producers on "The Neighbors," have inked a third consecutive two-year overall deal with producer ABC Studios (Deadline.com); and "Glee" co-star Naya Rivera is being written out of next month's season finale due to undisclosed reasons (EOnline.com).
