WatchESPN App for Android and iOS Devices Now Compatible with Chromecast

WATCH ABC and WATCH Disney Products Coming Soon

Just in time for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Disney & ESPN Media Networks and Google today announced that the WatchESPN app is now compatible with Chromecast through Android and iOS smartphones and tablets in the U.S. Customers who receive ESPN linear networks as part of their video subscription must download an update to the WatchESPN app in the Google Play and App Store to cast live access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN3, ESPNEWS and ESPN Deportes onto Chromecast. Additionally, users can enjoy ESPN Goal Line and ESPN Buzzer Beater on WatchESPN when those channels are in season. WATCH ABC and WATCH Disney products will also be coming soon to Chromecast.

The WatchESPN app on Chromecast via Android smartphones and tablets also includes ESPN.com on-demand clips surrounding the latest news and must see videos accessible to all sports fans. Authenticated users will be able to cast ESPN.com on-demand clips available within the Live Tool Bar of the WatchESPN app for iPad.

Every single match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup - from the group stage to the final - will be available live on the WatchESPN app to more than 67.5 million households nationwide via an affiliated video provider. ESPN3 Surround will also present companion viewing experiences to all 64 telecasts exclusively on the multi-screen sports network, allowing fans to watch matches live in multiple language offerings, including Portuguese (also available via ESPN Deportes+) and Korean. Additionally, ESPN3 Surround will deliver two alternate camera feeds to every telecast, including tactical cams that will provide a high and wide view of the pitch, giving viewers an in-stadium perspective, and real-time highlight reels that will update as big moments happen during every live match. Live access to other popular sports and fan-favorite shows via WatchESPN include college football and basketball, Monday Night Football, MLB, NBA, major golf tournaments, all four Grand Slam tennis events and more.
