truTV's "Motor City Masters" Heading to Pocono Raceway June 7-8 With Immersive Car-Design Installation

Legendary Automotive Journalist and Motor City Masters Judge Jean Jennings Scheduled to Appear

truTV's Competition Series Motor City Masters, Produced in Collaboration with Chevrolet, to Premiere June 24

Motor City Masters is off to the races. truTV's new car design competition series will be at the center of an immersive car-design installation to be located in Pocono Raceway's Fan Fair for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series from Pocono 400 during the weekend of June 7-8. Produced in collaboration with Chevrolet and premiering Tuesday, June 24, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), Motor City Masters will bring together 10 experienced designers, with various specialties and backgrounds, all of whom share a passion for car design.

Motor City Masters judge Jean Jennings, legendary automotive journalist and former editor-in-chief of Automobile magazine, is scheduled to make appearances at Pocono Raceway throughout the weekend. She will be attending the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Drivers Meeting and will have a view of the action up close from Victory Lane. She'll also be blogging from the race at jeanknowscars.com.

truTV's Motor City Masters installation at Pocono Raceway will immerse fans in the world of custom car design, giving them the chance to emerge as Motor City Masters in their own right. Fans will have the opportunity to have their very own custom concept cars sketched out by an artist. They'll be able to pose for a photo with their sketch superimposed onto the cover of Automobile magazine, which they can then upload and share with friends via social media.

In addition to the Motor City Masters installation, truTV will be touted during sister network TNT's coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, which will begin with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series from Pocono presented by the Dodge Charger on Sunday, June 8, at 1 p.m. (ET). On Saturday, members of TNT's NASCAR announcing team will describe their dream cars to two of the competing Motor City Masters designers: Camilo and Darby. The designers will sketch their ideas, which will then be showcased during TNT's NASCAR Summer Series coverage.

"NASCAR is the perfect outlet through which to spread the word about truTV's exciting new competition series Motor City Masters," said Puja Vohra, senior vice president of marketing and digital for truTV. "We look forward to plunging race fans into the fascinating world of car design, introducing them to Motor City Masters and giving them the chance to get their own design ideas put down on paper."

Among the other features of the Motor City Masters area at Pocono, a Camaro Z/28 and Corvette will be on display, exemplifying the high-end craftsmanship of Chevrolet. Fans will also be treated to their very own copy of their magazine cover shoot, as well as truTV tchotchkes (while supplies last).

truTV's Motor City Masters: Tuesday, June 24, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)

Fasten your seatbelt. The search is on for America's next great car designer as truTV and Chevrolet team up on the brand new competition series Motor City Masters. Hosted by Brooke Burns (The Chase, You Deserve It), Motor City Masters pits 10 designers against each other to test their limits of design expertise and creativity. The series will premiere on Tuesday, June 24, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

Motor City Masters brings together 10 experienced designers, with various specialties and backgrounds, all of whom share a passion for car design. The competitors range in age from 20 to 54, with a wide variety of experience in car design and other fields. They hail from states around the country, including California, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia and, of course, Michigan.

In each episode, the contestants will have the ambitious task of creating new, fully functional (though not street legal) concept cars based on a theme that will showcase each competitor's unique personality. Each week will be centered on a different theme, such as car character designs, which will tie in to the release of the new Michael Bay movie Transformers: Age of Extinction; body shape design, which will have the designers turning a Chevy SS into a NASCAR racing machine; and custom car designs, which will involve a Hot Wheels tie-in. Themes will also focus on different areas of car design, including technology, interior, body trim and functionality. The series will even touch on the automotive needs of busy parents and small business owners.

Challenges on Motor City Masters explore various aspects of design, inside and out. The designs will be judged by Jean Jennings, legendary automotive journalist and former editor-in-chief of Automobile Magazine, and internationally renowned car designer Harald Belker. They will be joined each week by a special celebrity guest judge, including actress and producer Melissa Joan Hart (Melissa & Joey, Clarissa Explains It All), actor Jesse Metcalfe (Dallas, Desperate Housewives), Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, baseball great David Justice and former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon. Also serving as guest judges will be celebrity dog trainer and bestselling author Tamar Geller, vice president of design, Mattel Hot Wheels Division, Felix Holst, model and surfer Malia Jones, this summer's Transformers: Age of Extinction's Master Mechanic and Fabricator, Specialty Cars Trevor Mann and GM vice president of global design Edward T. Welburn Jr.

Competitors will be judged on their creativity, execution and forward-thinking design, among other criteria. The field will narrow with each elimination challenge until only the top two designers remain. These two competitors will then face off in front of Chevrolet's world-class car design experts, after which only one designer will be crowned "The Next Great Car Designer." The winner of Motor City Masters will receive a brand new 2014 Camaro Z28 and $100,000 cash. The winner will also be named a Brand Ambassador, with the opportunity to showcase his/her designs at major auto show exhibitions.

Motor City Masters is being produced for the network by Bunim/Murray Productions (Project Runway, Total Divas) and The Story Lab, a division of Dentsu Aegis Network. Executive producers for Motor City Masters include Jonathan Murray, Gil Goldschein, Rick de Oliveira and Scott Freeman from Bunim/Murray Productions, as well as Lisa Eisenpresser from The Story Lab. Kirk Durham from Bunim/Murray Productions serves as co-executive producer.
