"LAST COMIC STANDING ROOM ONLY" SPECIAL EPISODE SHAKES UP SUNDAY NIGHT WITH 2-HOURS OF COMEDY AND A LOT OF NEW LAUGHS

Special Will Feature "Best Jokes of the Season" Countdown and an Up Close and Funny Look at the Top Eight Comics

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 25, 2014 - America's favorite summer comedy, NBC's "Last Comic Standing," will air an all-new "Last Comic Standing Room Only" special episode on Sunday, June 29 (9-11 p.m. ET).

It will feature some original never-before-seen footage, including new performance highlights from many of the 100 invited comics. There will also be additional new footage of fan favorites and stand-out performers, plus fresh comic interviews and hilarious behind the scenes moments. Viewers will also get in-depth looks at the personal stories of each of the top eight comics that took them down their individual comedy paths.

The two hours of fun kick off with some buzzworthy and never-before-seen material from the "Invitational" episodes, and continues with stand-out performances and new footage from the Semi-finals and the first challenge episode. In revealing new interviews, viewers will also see how the top eight comics take experiences from their daily lives and weave them into comedy gold.

The challenge episodes began Thursday, June 26 with comic mentor Cheryl Hines helping the comedians master the art of sketch comedy. As the players progress in the competition, they'll be mentored by the special guests through fun and innovative challenges designed to test them in different comedy disciplines, ranging from sketch to improv to stand-up.

In addition, the special will feature a countdown of the Top 50 funniest jokes so far this season, leading up to the #1 joke from "Last Comic Standing."

JB Smoove hosts the series, which stars judges Roseanne Barr, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Russell Peters. Page Hurwitz and Wanda Sykes, of Push It Productions, and Javier Winnik are the executive producers of "Last Comic Standing," produced by Universal Television and Push It Productions.
