Spike TV Announces More Leading Characters for "Tut" Event Series
Nonso Anozie, Sibylla Deen, Kylie Bunbury, Alexander Siddig, Peter Gadiot and Iddo Goldberg are among the latest to join the project.

SPIKE TV ANNOUNCES MORE LEADING CHARACTERS FOR "TUT" EVENT SERIES

New York, NY and Montreal, Canada - August 21, 2014 - Six crucial roles in Spike TV's upcoming event series have been cast, it was announced today by Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV.

Nonso Anozie will play the savvy military, yet power hungry, strategist General Horemheb. Anozie is an accomplished and acclaimed British film, stage, and television actor, having recently starred as Renfield in NBC's "Dracula" and as Xaro Xhoan Daxos in HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones." He was also recently seen in the Blockbuster features "Ender's Game" and "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit." Anozie's stage credits in the UK include the title role in William Shakespeare's King Lear and the title role in Othello, for which he won the prestigious Ian Charleson Award.

Sibylla Deen plays Ankhe, the calculating and conniving sister-wife of King Tutankhamun. Deen is an up-and-coming Australian actress who is a breakout star in FX's critically-acclaimed new hit series, "Tyrant," portraying the character of Nusrat Al Fayeed.

Kylie Bunbury portrays Suhad, the beautiful and endearing girl of Mitanni descent who develops a strong bond with the young Egyptian king, despite the fact she is not of royal bloodlines. The Canadian-born Bunbury is best known for her portrayal of Lacey Porter in the ABC Family series, "Twisted," as well as her co-starring role opposite Jonah Hill in "The Sitter" for FOX.

Alexander Siddig is a highly accomplished stage and screen actor who plays High Priest Amun, a major political figure who holds great influence in King Tutankhamun's inner sanctum. Siddig's impressive resume includes "Da Vinci's Demons" (Starz) "24" (FOX), "Hannibal" (FOX), "Atlantis" (BBC); and films "The Fifth Estate," "Cairo Time," and "May in the Summer." He is currently on stage at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in the new play "Holy Warriors." In July, HBO announced Siddig has been cast in "Game of Thrones" as Doran Martell for the hit series' fifth season.

Peter Gadiot plays Ka, King Tutankhamun's close confidant and seemingly loyal friend from childhood who harbors a secret love for Ankhe, Tut's wife. Gadiot is best known for his portrayal of Cyrus, the mysterious genie in the ABC's series, "Once Upon A Time in Wonderland." Gadiot currently plays the recurring character Caesar in the El Rey original series, "Matador."

Iddo Goldberg plays Lagus, an Egyptian soldier who develops a special bond with King Tutankhamun. Goldberg's television credits include "Salem" (WGN America), "Mob City" (TNT), "Secret Diary of A Call Girl" (ITV2), "Peaky Blinders" (BBC Two); along with appearances in "The Mentalist" (CBS) and "NCIS" (CBS). His film credits include "While We Were Here", "The Tourist," "Last Passenger," and "Defiance." Iddo is represented by Silver Lining Entertainment (US) and Gordon & French (UK).

Recently, Spike TV announced that legendary actor Ben Kingsley will star in the key role of Ay, the Grand Vizier to King Tutankhamun, who wields tremendous power and influence as the top advisor to the young Egyptian ruler. The role of King Tutankhamun will be played by one of Hollywood's up-and-coming young actors, Avan Jogia.

"Tut" will be shot entirely on location in Morocco this fall and will debut on the network in 2015. This will be Spike TV's first scripted event series in eight years and is another step in the network's move to reaching a more gender-balanced audience.

"Tut" is being produced for Spike TV by Muse Entertainment ("The Kennedys," "Being Human," "The Pillars of the Earth," "Bomb Girls") with Joel S. Rice and Michael Prupas as Executive Producers from Muse. The project is also executive produced by Greg Gugliotta ("The Fosters"), Michael Vickerman ("Impact"), Elice Island Entertainment's Jeremy Elice, Angela Mancuso ("Spartacus"), and Director/Executive Producer David Von Ancken ("Hell on Wheels") and written by Michael Vickerman, Peter Paige & Bradley Bredeweg ("The Fosters"). Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV will also serve as an Executive Producer.
