ROBIN ROBERTS LAUNCHES ROCK'N ROBIN PRODUCTIONS

Independent Production Company Will Create Original Broadcast and Digital Programming

Projects Currently in Production Include a News-Driven Documentary, ABC Special and Two Reality Show Pilots

"In the Game with Robin Roberts" Will Premiere on espnW Thursday, September 4

New York, NY - Wednesday, September 3, 2014 - "Good Morning America" Anchor Robin Roberts launches her new production company today, Rock'n Robin Productions. The independent production company will create original broadcast and digital programming for ABC and other networks, ranging from informational shows and documentaries, to lifestyle reality series and live special events. The company's projects currently in production include a news-driven documentary, a digital series for espnW, a Thanksgiving themed special for ABC and two reality show pilots. Roberts will continue to co-anchor "GMA" while overseeing the company.

Additionally, Rock'n Robin Productions' website rocknrobin.tv went live today and will feature behind the scenes footage and photos from all of Roberts' various projects as well as a new blog, N'Courage, where Roberts and her staff will recognize individuals who, despite extraordinary odds, have the courage to thrive and encourage others to do the same.

"I'm blessed to be able to do even more of what I love to do and now reach an even broader audience with programming that will inspire, inform and entertain people," said Roberts, who will serve as the company's President. "I'm very excited to get involved in the business and development side of production, and will spend a lot of time working with the team on the creative." Roberts also added, "I'm so grateful to my ABC and GMA family for supporting the launch of the company."

Roberts named veteran ABC News Executive John R. Green as Executive Vice President of Programming and Development to run day to day operations of Rock'n Robin Productions. "Robin is an extraordinarily gifted journalist. I am honored to work with her on this new adventure," said Green. "The programming we create will, in many ways, reflect who Robin is: smart, inspiring, and fun. Robin's enthusiasm is infectious. Working with her is a true labor of love." Green will also remain at ABC News as Executive Producer of Special Programming, overseeing prime time specials with Roberts and other network anchors. Roberts notes, "John is incredibly talented and creative with broad experience in developing new programming. We have known each other for 15 years and worked on dozens of primetime specials together. I'm thrilled to be partnering with him once again."

"In the Game with Robin Roberts" will premiere on espnW on Thursday, September 4 as Rock'n Roberts' first production. In this first episode, Roberts will speak with Michael Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted by an NFL team. Now in its third season, "In the Game" is a series of intimate interviews with top athletes in sports today and is featured online at espnW.com.
