The Forsytes Season 3 Starts Production and Announces New Cast

Boston, May 7, 2026: MASTERPIECE PBS' hit series The Forsytes has begun production on Season 3. Produced by Mammoth Screen and commissioned by MASTERPIECE, the third season will see the Forsyte family on holiday in the French Riviera.

When the wealthy Forsytes try to get some respite in the glamorous French Riviera, they quickly realize that they can't escape their family drama. The casino, the beach and a luxurious hotel are all settings for this third chapter in writer Debbie Horsfield's reimagining of John Galsworthy's The Forsyte Saga novels.

The three-episode season will see new characters come into the family's lives. Gregg Sulkin (The Six Triple Eight, World on Fire, Runaways) and Gabriel Antunes (Hey Joe, FBI International) have joined the returning ensemble.

The Forsytes Season 1 recently completed its run on MASTERPIECE PBS with extraordinary success. Variety declared the opulent costume drama "glamorous" and noted it as "perfectly paced and paints a majestic portrait of a family standing on the cusp of change." Decider noted it as "incredibly well-acted and gorgeous" and Collider wrote that it "will surely captivate modern audiences."

The Forsytes Season 2 will premiere in 2027 on MASTERPIECE PBS in the U.S. and on 5 in the U.K.

Debbie Horsfield, Writer and Executive Producer comments, "It's been an absolute treat to take the Forsytes on a roller-coaster ride of intrigue, glamour, romantic encounters and shock revelations, all played out against the sun-drenched Mediterranean at the height of the Belle Époque. We hope audiences will enjoy watching our characters bask in the pleasures of the Riviera whilst grappling with the curve balls which fate inevitably throws their way."

Damien Timmer, CCO & Founder of Mammoth Screen says, "Having made two series set during the London season, it's a real delight to follow the Forsyte family on their summer vacation! It's a grand tour that takes in Paris, the Italian countryside and the glamorous world of the French Riviera. Love is lost and found, new relationships are formed and incendiary secrets are unearthed - the family will never be the same again!"

Susanne Simpson, Head of Scripted Content and Executive Producer for MASTERPIECE adds, "I am thrilled with the audience reaction to our lavish costume drama, The Forsytes, and pleased that fans can look forward to a second, and now a third season. Debbie Horsfield has done it again with scripts that will leave audiences wanting more."

The Forsytes, Season 3 has been written by Debbie Horsfield. The director is Joss Agnew (Outrageous, Poldark). Benjamin Greenacre will serve as producer, alongside Imogen Wenner as Associate Producer. The executive producers are Debbie Horsfield and Damien Timmer for Mammoth Screen, part of ITV Studios, and Susanne Simpson for MASTERPIECE. The Forsytes is produced in association with ITV Studios, which handles international distribution, with PBS Distribution handling North American rights.
