ACQUITTAL (CBS, New!) - Rick Eid ("Hostages") is back in business with the Eye for a new drama about "an influential trial consultant who works alternately for the prosecution and the defense, using unorthodox ideas and tactics, often more psychological than legal." The Warner Bros. Television-based project, which has a put pilot commitment, is based on Richard Gabriel's book of the same name, subtitled "An Insider Reveals the Stories and Strategies Behind Today's Most Infamous Verdicts." Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman will executive produce with KristieAnne Reed as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)


COCAINE COWBOYS (TNT, New!) - Michelle Ashford's long-in-the-works drama - "set in the wild and unpredictable world of the Florida drug trade in the 1970s" - has been ordered to pilot at the cable channel. Warner Bros. Television is behind the project - originally set up at HBO - with Jerry Bruckheimer, Michael Bay and Jonathan Littman executive producing alongside Alfred Spellman, Billy Corben and David Cypkin, whose 2006 documentary upon which the series is based. KristieAnne Reed will serve as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)


FANTASY LIFE (FOX, New!) - Tim McAuliffe ("The Office") has scored a put pilot commitment from the network for a multi-camera/hybrid comedy about Mitch, "a regular guy who lands his ultimate dream job working in the fantasy sports department at a major sports network." The 20th Century Fox Television-based half-hour is best on ESPN's Matthew Berry memoir of the same name, subtitled "The Outrageous, Uplifting, and Heartbreaking World of Fantasy Sports from the Guy Who's Lived It." Kevin Connolly is already attached to star in the project as well as executive produce alongside 3 Arts Entertainment's Michael Rotenberg, Jonathan Berry, Greg Walter and Troy Zien. (Deadline.com)


GREATEST LOVE STORY EVER TOLD, THE (NBC, New!) - Justin Spitzer ("The Office") is back in business with the Peacock for a single-camera comedy about "a disparate group of employees working at a big-box store in Middle America and the love stories that ultimately will unfold among them." Ruben Fleischer and David Bernad are also on board to executive produce the Universal Television-based project, with the former also attached to direct. (Deadline.com)


KINGDOMS (Amazon, New!) - Roderick and Bruce Taylor (The Brave One) have sold a new drama to the digital distributor which "tells the biblical saga of the Apostles - 12 ordinary men who clashed with the power and wealth of three kingdoms to change the world forever." Ian Sander and Kim Moses also serve as executive producers via their Sander/Moses banner. Separately, the latter duo has inked a first-look deal with 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)


MY LOVE FROM ANOTHER STAR (ABC, New!) - Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain ("The 100") are looking to import the Korean drama, billed as an "epic supernatural love story about a world-famous actress, Lark, and her anti-social neighbor, James, who happens to be from another planet." Ji-eun Park, creator of the original series, will also executive produce alongside HB Entertainment's Bomi Moon and EnterMedia Contents' Sebastian Lee for Sony Pictures Television with David Kim as a co-executive producer. NIÑO SANTO (A&E, New!) - Mauricio Katz and Pedro Peirano are looking to import their Mexican drama - about "a group of young doctors who are sent to vaccinate the locals in a remote village, where they encounter an unusual cult headed by an enigmatic faith healer" - at the cable channel. Actors Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal are also on board to executive produce the A+E Studios-based hour, as are Canana's Pablo Cru; Ambin Television's Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey; and showrunner Jeff Pinkner. UNTITLED JUDITH GODRÈCHE PROJECT (HBO, New!) - French actress and writer Judith Godrèche is set to team with Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer ("Getting On") for a potential new half-hour at the pay channel about "a famous French actress (to be played by Godrèche) who moves to the U.S. and, with savoir faire, goes to great lengths to keep her unorthodox family together." The latter duo then will executive produce via their Anima Sola Productions banner with Godrèche as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED LIZ HELDENS PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Liz Heldens ("Camp") has booked a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a new drama about "a disgraced journalist who is forced to go back to work for his former intern, who has since invented a BuzzFeed/PopSugar-type news site." Sony Pictures Television-based Carol Mendelsohn Productions is behind the hour with the company's Carol Mendelsohn and Julie Weitz executive producing alongside Heldens. (THR.com)
