BROTHERS IN ATLANTA (HBO; W: Bashir Salahuddin & Diallo Riddle; D: Tim Story) - Finesse Mitchell ("Saturday Night Live") has booked a role on the Lorne Michaels-produced comedy pilot, about struggling entertainers and best friends Langston (Diallo Riddle) and Moose (Bashir Salahuddin) trying to navigate relationships and life in the black Mecca of Atlanta. He'll play Walter, "one of the backup singers to Shirle (Maya Rudolph) and a nemesis to Moose." Jaden Smith also stars. (Deadline.com)
INSECURE (A.K.A. UNTITLED ISSA RAE PROJECT) (HBO; W: Issa Rae & Larry Wilmore; D: TBA) - The Issa Rae-led comedy, which focuses on the awkward experiences and racy tribulations of a modern day African-American woman, has been ordered to pilot at the pay channel. Rae and Larry Wilmore are behind the half-hour, with 3 Arts Entertainment's Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry likewise serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED DANA KLEIN PROJECT (FOX/20th; W: Dana Klein; D: Pamela Fryman) - Jenna Elfman ("Growing Up Fisher") has been tapped for the lead role on the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Ellen, a working mom who is in constant competition with her perfect, stay-at-home sister-in-law. "Ellen constantly second-guesses herself and, by extension, her husband. She worries she's a bad mom/wife/daughter-in-law and often takes on more than she can handle in an effort to prove otherwise."
