Travel Channel to Debut "Big Crazy Family Adventure" Series on Demand and Online Sunday, June 14, One Week Before Network Launch

First Scripps Networks Interactive brand to make a full series available for viewing prior to on-air premiere

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. [For immediate release] June 8, 2015 - Travel Channel's new original series "Big Crazy Family Adventure" will be available across multiple platforms beginning Sunday, June 14, one week before the series makes its network premiere on June 21. This marks the first time a Scripps Networks Interactive brand will debut a full season of a series prior to the on-air launch.

The first half of the two-hour season premiere is currently available for free on TravelChannel.com, TV Everywhere, and select digital-download and video-on-demand platforms.

"Big Crazy Family Adventure" follows the Kirkby family throughout an epic 96-day trip: a 13,000-mile adventure and NO airplanes. Each episode travels alongside the family as they experience four Wonders of the World and make their way through expansive landscapes, challenging climates and unique communities in some of the most remote areas of the northern hemisphere.

"By working with our trusted distribution partners, we're able to treat our viewers to this entire series at once while building excitement for the travelogue and our playful Travel Channel brand," said Henry Ahn, executive vice president of content distribution and marketing for Scripps Networks Interactive. "Given our viewers' insatiable appetite for quality programming and great storytelling, this is a fun and exciting first foray for us."

All nine hour-long episodes of the series will be available through the Watch Travel Channel app and VOD platforms including Comcast's Xfinity On Demand, Charter, Cox, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS, among others. The series will also be available for download on platforms including but not limited to iTunes, Google Play, VUDU and Microsoft's Xbox Video.

"Travel Channel recognized that with 'Big Crazy Family Adventure' we had a compelling and beautiful series, with a continuous story arc that makes perfect sense for this type of promotion," said Shannon O'Neill, president of Travel Channel. "This travel series is packed with adventure and exotic locales that our viewers love. We believe that once they meet the Kirkby family and embark on their 13,000-mile journey, they won't want to stop watching. And they won't have to!"
