NEW YORK, July 16, 2015 - Comedy Central earned a record 26 nominations in the 2014-2015 Primetime Emmy(R) Awards competition with seven individual series receiving nominations ("@midnight," "The Colbert Report," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "Drunk History," "Inside Amy Schumer," "Key & Peele" and "South Park"). The #1 brand in comedy dominated the new Variety Sketch Series category with three of the five nominees ("Drunk History," "Inside Amy Schumer," "Key & Peele"), and for the second consecutive year, Comedy Central leads all brands in the Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series category with four of the five nominated series. Comedy Central talent is recognized in both the lead and supporting categories for acting in a comedy series, with Amy Schumer nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in her first year of eligibility and Keegan-Michael Key for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Twenty-time Emmy(R) winner (including a record ten consecutive wins for Outstanding Variety Series) "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" was nominated in four categories this year including Outstanding Variety Talk Series, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series, Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control for a Series. Chuck O'Neil was singled out for the 12th year in a row for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series. This brings the all-time total of Primetime Emmy(R) nominations for the "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" to 60. "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" is also a two-time Peabody(R) Award recipient.

Recognized for its hit third season, "Inside Amy Schumer" received seven Emmy(R) nominations this year, scoring its second consecutive nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and its first for the new Outstanding Variety Sketch Series category. Schumer was honored with her first nominations for both Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series. The show was also honored for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series and actor Paul Giamatti in the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy category. The series was also honored earlier this year with the prestigious Peabody(R) Award for Excellence in Broadcasting

The hit "Key & Peele" franchise was honored across multiple platforms with eight Emmy(R) nominations, including its second consecutive nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and a first nomination for series co-creator/star Keegan-Michael Key in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. The Peabody(R) Award-winning series also received nominations for Outstanding Hairstyling for Multi-Camera Series or Special, Outstanding Makeup for a Multi-Camera Series or Special (Non-Prosthetic) and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming. Additionally, its cc.com spinoff "Key & Peele Presents Van and Mike: The Ascension" was recognized for Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program and the duo's "Key & Peele Super Bowl Special" pulled in a nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.

Last year's dual-winner for Outstanding Variety Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series, "The Colbert Report," returns with four nominations this year including Outstanding Variety Talk Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. Director Jim Hoskinson was once again cited for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series. The series was also nominated for Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming. "The Colbert Report" has been nominated in the Series, Writing and Directing categories for 10 consecutive years and its all-time total number of nominations now stands at 44. It has also twice been honored with a Peabody(R) Award.

Rounding out Comedy Central's record number of nominations are "Drunk History," which received its first nomination, for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series; Comedy Central's social media sensation "@midnight," receiving its second-consecutive nomination in the Outstanding Interactive Program category; and five-time Emmy(R)-winner and fourteen-time nominee "South Park," being honored with an Outstanding Animated Program nomination for its "Freemium Isn't Free" episode.

The 67th Primetime Emmy(R) Awards will be presented in two ceremonies. The first, primarily for creative arts categories, will take place on Saturday, September 12, while the balance of the Emmys, primarily for the performing arts, will be announced before a black-tie audience during a primetime telecast on Fox on Sunday, September 20 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
