HAUNTED (Syfy, New!) - Noga Landau has set up a new drama at the cable channel about "four adult children of self-proclaimed paranormal experts who are reunited following their parents' sudden and mysterious deaths. Together under one roof for the first time in years, they must overcome their issues with each other in order to solve the mystery of what happened to their parents and ultimately survive the literal ghosts from their past." Universal Cable Productions is behind the hour, with Full Fathom Five's James Frey also executive producing. (THR.com)
HOMEFRONT, THE (ABC, New!) - Writer Colleen McGuinness ("30 Rock") and director Todd Holland ("The Real O'Neals") are set to team for a new single-camera comedy at the Alphabet about "a retired Green Beret who comes back to the U.S. and moves near his grown daughter and grandkids, only to find that it's easier to face death every day than to live in the suburbs." Said effort, loosely based on the life of McGuinness, is set up at Holland's ABC Studios-based Dark Toy Entertainment (Deadline.com)
KISSNTELL (E!, New!) - Marc Halsey has sold a potential comedy to the cable channel which "follows two young women who start an anonymous gossip blog. The project is based on an e-book from Full Fathom Five where the company's James Frey will also executive produce for Universal Cable Productions. (THR.com)
MIDDLE KINGDOM (NBC, New!) - Michael Golamco has booked a potential drama at the Peacock in which "modern-day people clash with ancient demons and the spirits of myth try to live among us. At the center of the drama project is Jack, an assistant medical examiner working for the SFPD who reluctantly and covertly takes on his ancient ancestor's mantle as a Demon Queller and uses the martial arts he's been taught since he was a child to set the balance aright between the two kingdoms." Said effort is set up at Universal Cable Productions with Golamco and Full Fathom Five's James Frey executive producing and Dan Halsted and Nate Miller of Manage-ment as producers. (THR.com)
UNTITLED BOBBY BOWMAN PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Bobby Bowman ("The Millers") has sold a new comedy to the Alphabet about "an ambitious and meticulous Latino chef who runs a cafe with his unpredictable white father-in-law." Eva Longoria and Ben Spector are also on board as executive producers via their Universal Television-based UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JOSH RABINOWITZ/KEVIN BARNETT PROJET (NBC, New!) - Comedians Josh Rabinowitz and Kevin Barnett ("Friends of the People") have sold a single-camera comedy to the Peacock about "two best friends (played by the duo) who've worked hard their entire lives to reach the careers they've always wanted, and then realize everything sucks and they hate it. So they quit their jobs to figure out what they really want and care about." 3 Arts Entertainment's Howard Klein and Avi Gilbert will also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Element 8 Entertainment and GRID/AT-Anim are developing a live-action TV take on the best-selling French graphic novel "The Call of the Stryx" (Deadline.com); and Carl Lumbly will recur on NBC's "Chicago Med" as Bert Goodwin, "the husband of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center Sharon (S. Epatha Merkerson)" (THR.com).
