BIG LITTLE LIES (HBO; W: David E. Kelley; D: Jean-Marc Vallee) - Alexander Skarsgard and James Tupper have both been cast in the limited series, based on Liane Moriarty's book of the same name about three mothers - Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Madeline (Reese Witherspoon) and Jane (Shailene Woodley) - of kindergartners whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder. Skarsgard play Perry Wright, "a successful businessman, loving father and devoted husband" to Celeste while Tupper is set as Nathan Carlson, the ex-husband of Madeline, now "married to a beautiful and younger yoga instructor." Also signing on are Kathryn Newton (Abigail Mackenzie), Jeffrey Nordling (Gordon Klein), Santiago Cabrera (Joseph Bachman), P.J. Byrne (Warren Nippal), Darby Camp (Chloe Mackenzie), Cameron & Nicholas Crovetti (Max & Josh Wright), Ivy George (Amabella Klein), Chloe Coleman (Skye Carlson) and Virginia Kull (Emily Barnes) with Kelen Coleman, Sarah Burns, Sarah Baker, Kathreen Khavari, Larry Bates, Hong Chau and Gia Carides as fellow parents at their Monterey school. BOOST UNIT (FOX, New!) - Jonny Umansky and Zach Hyatt have sold a new drama to the network "that follows the newest recruit of the LAPD's Auto Theft Task Force, a notorious getaway driver with a hidden past." The project comes from Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia's Seven Bucks Productions and Tim Kring's Imperative Entertainment. No studio was indicated. (Deadline.com)
LEGION (FX/FXP; W: Noah Hawley; D: TBA) - Rachel Keller ("Fargo") has been tapped as the female lead on the drama pilot, based on the Marvel Comics character, a troubled young man who may be more than human. She'll play "a scrappy, optimistic woman in her 20s," full details of which weren't given. (Deadline.com)
