BURGESS BOYS, THE (HBO, New!) - Elizabeth Strout ("Olive Kitteridge") is back in business with the pay channel for another mini-series adaptation, which "follows two brothers who are haunted by the freak accident that killed their father when they were children, and recounts their eventual return to Maine where long-buried tensions surface in ways that change them forever." Robert Redford will executive produce the project via his Wildwood Enterprises banner with Marcus Hinchey (All Good Things) tapped to pen the script. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ALEX HIRSCH PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Alex Hirsch ("Gravity Falls") is developing a new animated series for the network. The project, set up at 20th Century Fox Television, has a script and presentation pilot commitment. No details however were given. (Variety.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - BET has confirmed its Gabrielle Union-led drama "Being Mary Jane" will return for a fourth season (@BET); "American Crime" creator John Ridley's International Famous Players Radio Picture Corporation has extend its overall deal with ABC Studios for three more years (Deadline.com); Jonathan Karsh's Shiny Objects Entertainment has likewise inked a multi-year overall pact with Lionsgate Television (Deadline.com); Enrico Colantoni will recur on "iZombie" as "a vice detective whose cases overlap with Liv's (Rose McIver) personal and professional life" (THR.com); a prospective season two of FX's "American Crime Story" would "center on Hurricane Katrina and its devastating aftermath" (THR.com); and June Squibb has been cast as "Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) much-discussed, but never-before-seen grandmother" on "The Big Bang Theory" (EW.com).
