Intercut throughout Rough Draft are clips of candid exclusive green room footage featuring Aslan, the main guest and the evening's musical guest, all sharing tales over drinks. In addition to Norman Lear, guests include Jill Soloway (Transparent, Six Feet Under), Mike White (Enlightened, Chuck and Buck), Damon Lindelof (Lost), Tim Kring (Heroes) and Gideon Raff (Homeland). Musical guests include Antonio Sanchez (Composer, Birdman) Daniel Lanois (Composer/Producer), Local Natives, Ingrid Michaelson, The Bird & The Bee, Alison Sudol and others.
