ALTERED CARBON (Netflix/Skydance; W: Laeta Kalogridis; D: Miguel Sapochnik) - Joel Kinnaman ("House of Cards") is back in business with the streaming service, this time to star in the upcoming drama based on Richard Morgan's novel of the same name "set in the 25th century when the human mind has been digitized and the soul is transferable from one body to the next." He'll play Takeshi Kovacs, "a former elite interstellar warrior known as an Envoy who has been imprisoned for 500 years, is downloaded into a future he'd tried to stop. If he can solve a single murder in a world where technology has made death nearly obsolete, he'll get a chance at a new life on Earth." Miguel Sapochnik is also on board to direct the debut installment from a script by Laeta Kalogridis. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - CBS All Access is reportedly on track to order a spin-off of "The Good Wife" featuring Christine Baranski's Diane Lockhart and Cush Jumbo's Lucca Quinn with Robert and Michelle King penning the pilot but not serving as showrunners (THR.com); Wentworth Miller's Leonard Snart won't return as a series regular on "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" however the actor will nonetheless return on a recurring basis as well as appear on sibling series "The Flash" (Deadline.com); and Glenn Gordon Caron is spearheading a small screen take on Alan Glynn's upcoming novel "Paradime" for ITV Studios America and One-Two Punch Productions (Deadline.com).
