BLACK-ISH (ABC) - Daveed Diggs ("Hamilton") has been cast as Rainbow Johnson's (Tracee Ellis Ross) brother, Johan - "a hipster, entitled kid who gets on Dre's nerves" - in an upcoming arc. Additionally, Deon Cole's Charlie, "one of Dre's work colleagues," will return this season. (Variety.com)
CHICAGO PD (NBC) - Li Jun Li ("Quantico") has booked a three-episode arc as Julie Tay, "the uniformed officer now partnered with Burgess (Marina Squerciati) after the departure of her longtime partner Roman (Brian Geraghty)." Said role has an option to become a series regular. (THR.com)
CODE BLACK (CBS) - Camryn Manheim, Eric Roberts and Alexandra Grey will all guest in an upcoming episode. Manheim will play Alice, "the emotionally distraught wife of a truck driver who is injured in a horrific accident"; with Roberts as Vince Savetti, "Mario's (Ben Hollingsworth) opportunistic, but sympathetic father who tries to hustle his son into an investment"; and Grey as Beth, "a strong, confident transgender woman. When stomach pains send her to the ER, she is forced to confront her past." (Deadline.com)
DIMENSION 404 (Hulu) - Lorenza Izzo, Daniel Zovatto and Tom Noonan are the latest set to visit the anthology series. Izzo will play Val, "a confident, brash upstart in the world of competitive video games"; Zovatto then will play Zach, "a smooth-talking heartthrob who can not only sell people on the merits of the brand new and terrifyingly real Cinethrax movie format, but gain the adoration of the episode's young heroine"; with Noonan as Bob, "the NSA's unusual, most-valued secret agent, who receives counseling from a military psychologist (Constance Wu) in order to help him overcome his performance issues and stop a deadly terrorist attack." EMPIRE (FOX) - Actor/musician Scott Mescudi ("How to Make It in America") is the latest addition to the new season as Gram, "an independent musician who is a rival to Hakeem (Bryshere "Yazz" Gray) both in the studio and in life. That competition extends to romance: Gram is dating Hakeem's ex, Tiana (Serayah McNeill)." (EW.com)
FAMILY, THE (ABC) - Creator Jenna Bans has inked a two-year overall deal with Universal Television, ending her decade plus run at ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER (ABC) - Luna Velez ("Dexter") has booked a recurring role on the series as "the President of Middleton University, where Viola Davis' Annalise Keating works as a professor (when she's not, you know, covering up murders with the help of her students)." (TVLine.com)
MACGYVER (CBS) - David Slack ("A.P.B.") has inked a two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios where he'll join the newcomer as a co-executive producer as well as develop new series projects. (Variety.com)
MADAM SECRETARY (CBS) - Carlos Gomez is set to reprise his role of Jose Campos - "an ex-Special Forces guy, currently a Senior Intel CIA operative with past tours in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq now working as part of a very special intelligence analysis unit led by Henry (Tim Daly)" - on the new season. ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Jessy Schram is set to return to the series as Cinderella this season, in an episode "in which it is revealed that the maid-turned-princess has a connection to the Land of Untold Stories, which in the Season 5 finale relocated its many denizens to Storybrooke." SNEAKY PETE (Amazon) - Michael Drayer ("Mr. Robot") is bound for the upcoming series as Eddie Josapovic, "Marius' (Giovanni Ribisi) younger brother and the only person that Marius truly cares about. An expert card dealer and a beloved fixture at Vince's tables, Eddie has always looked to his big brother for guidance. But when he's taken hostage by his own employer, Eddie is forced to rely on his own wits to survive." (Deadline.com)
SNOWFALL (FX) - Alon Aboutboul and Amin Joseph have both joined the cast of the revamped pilot. Aboutboul will play Avi Drexler, "an unpredictable cocaine dealer operating in the San Fernando Valley"; while Joseph is set as "Franklin's uncle, Jerome Saint, a prison hardened hustler and low key weed dealer." SUPERGIRL (The CW) - Chris Wood ("Containment") has joined the cast of the new season as "a surprise DC Comics character." Details however were not released. (TVLine.com)
UNTITLED PETER KOSMINSKY PROJECT (NGC, New!) - Writer/director Peter Kosminsky ("Wolf Hall") is spearheading a four-part drama at the network and the U.K.'s Channel 4 "chronicling the fact-inspired fictional story of four British men and women who join ISIS in Raqqah, Syria." Archery Pictures is behind the project with the company's Liza Marshall and Kris Thykier likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
VAMPIRE DIARIES, THE (The CW) - Allison Scagliotti ("Stitchers") has scored an arc on the series as Georgie, "an occult reach intern driven by a horrific darkness in her own past." (TVLine.com)
