Superstar Entertainer, Musical Icon and Series Executive Producer Debuts
New Music-Based Game Show "Tracks,"
Following Her Appearance on "Lip Sync Battle: TMI"
Shad Moss, a.k.a. Bow Wow Set to Host "Tracks"
New York, NY, August 17, 2016 - Musical icon and superstar entertainer Christina Aguilera ("The Voice") takes over Spike on September 1st with the debut of "Tracks," a new music-based game show hosted by rapper, actor and television host Shad Moss a.k.a. Bow Wow. The two half-hour specials of "Tracks" premiere back-to-back on Thursday, September 1 starting at 10:30 PM, ET/PT following Spike's popular "Lip Sync Battle: TMI" featuring Aguilera's appearance during the epic Hayden Panettiere vs. Eva Longoria "Lip Sync Battle."
Produced by Mission Control Media and MX Productions in association with Lionsgate, "Tracks" is an innovative musical game show where teams of two must guess the name of a song title, with only the song's individual tracks (e.g. guitar, bass, drums, etc.) as a clue. The show will also feature surprise celebrity musical guests performances. One episode features Tommy Lee performing the drum track during game play. Special performances by Aguilera will be featured in both episodes.
Bow Wow brings his nearly 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry (Film, TV, and Music) to his hosting duties on "Tracks," having most recently starred as Brody Nelson in the hit CBS show "CSI: Cyber." Prior to that Moss co-hosted the iconic hip hop and R&B music video show "106 & Park" on BET. Originally discovered by hip-hop star Snoop Dogg, Moss's solo debut release "Beware of Dog" set off a string of platinum and gold albums that led to six No. 1 singles for the young entertainer. Moss has released five albums and has sold more than 10 million albums to date. His new album, "Underrated," is due out later this year. No stranger to film and television, Moss made his lead role feature film debut in "Like Mike" and has since added "Lottery Ticket," "Johnson Family Vacation," "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" and "Hurricane Season" to his list of film credits. Additionally, Moss starred as Charlie in "Entourage" for three seasons and held guest-starring roles in "Moesha," "The Steve Harvey Show," "Brothers Garcia," "Smallville" and "Ugly Betty."
Aguilera serves as executive producer along with MX Productions founder Matthew Rutler ("Chef Without Borders," "MasterClass"), Michael Agbabian and Dwight D. Smith ("Hollywood Game Night," "Face Off") and Jeff Boggs ("Can You Duet?," "Nashville Star"). "Tracks" is produced by Mission Control Media and MX Productions in association with Lionsgate. Neal Tabachnick and Michael Aubry are co-executive producers, and developed the series with Mission Control Media.
Sharon Levy is Spike's Executive Vice President, Original Series, Chachi Senior is Senior Vice President of Original Programming for Spike and Tori Socha is Vice President of Original Programming for Spike and will oversee "Tracks." Jennifer O'Connell, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Lionsgate Television and Brian Tannenbaum, Vice President, Lionsgate Television will oversee on behalf of the studio.
