truTV Announces Premiere Date & Cast for "Jon Glaser Loves Gear," Casting for "Small Victories" Pilot

John Hodgman Joins Glaser's Hybrid Comedy Along with Guest Star Janeane Garofalo, Series Premieres Wednesday, October 26; Chris Parnell, Kurt Fuller & Kerri Kenney Join Melissa Hunter in Small Victories

truTV announced today details for two of its upcoming projects - the new hybrid comedy series Jon Glaser Loves Gear created by and starring Jon Glaser (Trainwreck, Parks and Recreation, Girls), and the scripted comedy pilot Small Victories, created by and starring Melissa Hunter (Maya and Marty).

Jon Glaser Loves Gear will make its series premiere on truTV Wednesday, October 26 at 10pm ET/PT with back-to-back episodes. The 10-episode first season will feature John Hodgman (The Daily Show), Steve Cirbus (Delocated), Miriam Tolan and Eva Solveig in recurring roles. Guest appearances include Janeane Garofalo (Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp); John Early (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising); Jo Firestone (The Jim Gaffigan Show); mixed martial artist Renzo Gracie; bass fishing champ Woo Daves; Former NHL All-Star and Emmy Award winning broadcaster Ron Duguay; Peter Grosz (Veep); and Robert Kelly (Louie). They all play alongside the series' star Jon as he sets out to make a docu-series about his greatest passion: gear. Ironically, it's this very obsession that continually threatens to derail the show, sending each episode spiraling off on deeply personal tangents.

Jon Glaser Loves Gear is produced by PFFR with Vernon Chatman, John Lee, and Alyson Levy executive producing alongside Glaser, Dave Becky, Richard Korson, and David Miner. A special sneak peek of the series' first episode will air Tuesday, October 25 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT immediately following The Adam Ruins Everything Election Special.

The Small Victories pilot is currently in production with Heidi Gardner (Super Mansion), George Kareman (Silicon Valley), and RJ Walker (Baskets) all joining Hunter in series regular roles. Jessica Lowe (Wrecked), Kurt Fuller (The Good Wife), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live) and Kerri Kenney (Love) have all been tapped as guest stars in the pilot. The project centers around Margot (Hunter), a young upstart lawyer, who after a minor nervous breakdown in court, finds herself disbarred, living at home with her parents, working as a barista and going to a book club with her three remaining friends. As she navigates her new reality, she becomes keenly aware of life's daily injustices and forms an amateur vigilante squad to take on everyday jackasses while simultaneously trying to get her life back on track.

Small Victories is executive produced by Hunter and Debbie Liebling, with Abso Lutely Productions producing.
