24: LEGACY (FOX) - Veronica Cartwright and Laith Nakli are both bound for the spin-off. The former will play the series regular role of Margaret Donovan, "Senator John Donovan's (Jimmy Smits) mother. Described as well-heeled and connected, the character is formidable in business and politics and has lost very few battles in her life." Nakli then will recur as "one of the series' bad guys. His character Kusuma is a battle-hardened jihadist and fighter." (Variety.com)
CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Daniel Zacapa and Fulvia Vergel have been cast as Gabby and Antonio Dawson's parents in an upcoming episode of the NBC drama in which "the husband and wife visit the Windy City for their anniversary party, but the momentous occasion quickly takes a turn for the worse." LEGEND OF MASTER LEGEND, THE (Amazon) - Anjelika Washington and David Castaneda have been tapped for roles on the John Hawkes-led comedy pilot. She'll play Cody, "a tomboy and the daughter of Frank and Tana"; while Castaneda will portray Mandy Mandujano, "a sweet-faced Las Vegas police officer who'd rather talk than shoot. He's a true believer in Master Legend, even when he has to save Master Legend from himself." (Deadline.com)
MONSTERS OF GOD (TNT) - Pat Healy (Cheap Thrills) has joined the cast of the drama pilot as Sergeant Major Wit Reynolds, "a barbarous and power hungry U.S. Army NCO who works directly with Colonel Lancaster (Garret Dillahunt) and is one of the few at Fort Thayer to agree with his desire to exterminate the Comanche tribe. Ruthless in his own way, Reynolds makes his power known, even standing up to the Colonel when Lancaster steps out of bounds. He has a taste for alcohol and women, and no time for underlings. He has spent his entire career working for Lancaster." (Deadline.com)
PROTECT & SERVE (ABC, New!) - Wife-and-husband duo Barbie Kligman and Billy Malone are developing a new drama at the Alphabet "set in the aftermath of a riot in an American city triggered by the shooting of an unarmed man by cops. The police department is dismantled and a newly appointed police chief is tasked with rebuilding from scratch. The task is daunting, but with his unwavering faith in people and the community, and a brand-new optimistic approach - there is hope." The project is set up ABC Studios with Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
SPEECHLESS (ABC) - Julianne Hough will guest on the newcomer as Miss Bloom, "a young, beautiful and enthusiastic new choir teacher. She's excited to teach all of the new choir students, including JJ (Micah Fowler)." (THR.com)

(Deadline.com)
UNTITLED LEVI & STOLLMAN PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Hagai Levi and Noah Stollman have reportedly landed a 10-episode order for a new drama about "the tragic events involving the disappearance of three teens that unfolded in Israel two years ago. The show follows an idealistic investigator for the Shin Bet (the Israeli equivalent of the FBI) as he deals with the ramifications of violent reactions on both sides of the escalating conflict. A new command position thrusts him into a confrontation that undermines his faith and worldview, leading to a dramatic conflict between his values and the actions of those closest to him." Keshet Studios and Movie Plus are also behind the project, which "will be filmed on location in Israel next summer and will primarily be directed by award-winning Israeli filmmaker Joseph Cedar." Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Karni Ziv, Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan and former HBO president Michael Lombardo are also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
