GLOBAL SUPERSTAR BRUNO MARS RETURNS TO THE MTV EMA STAGE

TUNE IN FOR THIS INCREDIBLE NIGHT OF MUSIC ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6 AT 8:00 PM ET/PT

New York / Rotterdam (October 11, 2016) - Three-time MTV EMA winner Bruno Mars will make a grand return to the EMAs stage for the first live global performance of his brand new single which dropped just this past Friday, "24K Magic," LIVE at the 2016 MTV EMAs. The 2016 EMAs will broadcast around the globe from the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands on Sunday, November 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT in the U.S. This will be Mars' third EMA performance as he returns to the show in the Netherlands, following his 2013 performance of "Gorilla" at the 2013 MTV EMAs in Amsterdam.

"24K Magic" is the lead single from Mars' third studio album of the same title, and Mars' first piece of solo music in nearly four years. The singer unveiled the highly anticipated track and music video worldwide on October 7. The "24K Magic" album will arrive on November 18.

The eleven-time EMA nominee and winner of "Best Song" in 2011 snagged his first five number one Billboard singles in less time than any artist since Elvis Presley. Mars' robust pipeline of smash hits has spawned some of today's catchiest songs including "Uptown Funk," "Locked Out of Heaven" and "Nothin' On You."

Mars is the first artist unveiled from the show's star-studded performer lineup. Additional performers, as well as presenters, will be announced shortly.

Bruno Mars is a 20-time Grammy Award nominee and multi-Grammy winner. The critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, producer, musician has sold over 170 million singles worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. Mars most recently dominated charts with hit single "Uptown Funk." The worldwide smash is the longest-leading Billboard Hot 100 single of the 2010s, and is only the 10th single in the Hot 100's 57-year history to spend at least 14 weeks at Number 1. "Uptown Funk" took home 3 GRAMMY Awards this past year, including the coveted Record of the Year award. The companion video for the hit single was also nominated for five MTV Video Music Awards in 2015, winning the award for Best Male Video. This past February, Bruno Mars returned to the Super Bowl Halftime stage to perform alongside Beyoncé and Coldplay at the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show. In 2014, Bruno Mars made NFL history with the second most watched Super Bowl Halftime Show, which saw a record-breaking total viewership of over 115.3 million, all while being the youngest artist ever to serve as the sole NFL Super Bowl Halftime headliner. According to Billboard, Bruno Mars scored his first five "Hot 100" No. 1s faster than any male since Elvis Presley. As a singer, songwriter, and producer, Bruno Mars has an impressive catalog of 22 "Hot 100" hits.
