BALLERS (HBO) - Emayatzy Corinealdi is the latest to recur on the comedy series as Candace Brewer, "a high-powered sports executive who goes toe to toe with Spencer (Dwayne Johnson)." (Deadline.com)
BLACKLIST, THE (NBC) - Enrique Murciano is bound for the show's final four episodes this season as Julian Gale, "an FBI investigator and former colleague of Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff), whose obsessive tendencies make him both a valuable agent and a potential liability. Dedicated, driven and possessed of a quiet charisma, he can command a room or a crime scene without uttering a word. And yet, his new assignment puts him in danger of losing himself." Said role has an option to be a series regular next season. (Deadline.com)
BLUEGRASS/BLOOD RED (ABC) - Emily Rose has snagged a role in the drama pilot as Vonda Jean, "County Coroner for the small town and former pageant runner-up." Reba McEntire, Jack Coleman, Ben Esler, Natalie Hall and Saidah Ekulona also star. (Deadline.com)
CHARLIE FOXTROT (ABC) - Ana Ortiz is set to star opposite Jason Biggs in the comedy pilot, about Charlie Taylor (Biggs), a cautious, quiet dentist stationed at Fort Bragg, who, after his brother Joe is killed in action, must honor his promise to take care of Joe's teenage step-kids and fiancée, Angelina (Ortiz), a defiant troublemaker whose impulsive behavior forces Charlie to be the hero he never imagined he could be. Her character is further details as "a well-meaning, fierce single mother-lion who believes in putting her kids first, even if that means crossing a few lines." Ortiz previously inked a talent holding deal with ABC and ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
FOR GOD & COUNTRY (NBC) - Anne Heche has scored the female lead in the drama pilot as Patricia Campbell: "She supervises a team of surveillance analysts who uncover and interpret threats, often sharing vital intelligence with Dalton (Mike Vogel) in real time as his team is working in the field. A woman with a 19-year-old son serving in the Marines and a 7-year-old son at home, Patricia is coolly used to going from sleep to work at 3 AM and is expert at keeping calm while supervising a crisis situation." GET, THE (CBS) - Brad Garrett has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot, about a team of tireless internet journalists who pursue and expose stories of injustice using their unconventional investigative techniques in today's anything-goes world of reporting. He's set as Bill Asher, "a hardworking reporter who has spent his life working up to the position of executive producer at The Get." (Deadline.com)
JACK RYAN (Amazon) - French actress Marie-Josée Croze (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) has scored a role on the John Krasinski-led drama as Sandrine, "a kick-ass Parisian intelligence agent." (Deadline.com)
MAYANS MC (FX) - John Ortiz is bound for the "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off as Esai "Taino" Osorio, "President of Mayans MC, Santo Padre Charter. A Mexi-Rican, he was born in the Bronx, then sent to Oakland to live with his cousin, Marcus Alvarez, founder and National President of Mayans MC. Like his cousin, he is as smart as he is deadly." SEARCHERS (The CW) - Zane Holtz has scored the male lead on the drama pilot, about a pragmatic brother and free spirited sister who are forced to team up when they learn that their late mother's terrifying and bizarre stories may be a road map to discovering the great legends, myths, and unexplainable mysteries of the world. He'll play the former, Cooper, "a brilliant tech innovator and former soldier who has accepted his parents' deaths. But all that changes when Fable drags him on a dangerous mission to learn what truly happened to them 10 years ago." (Deadline.com)
SUITS (USA) - The network, creator Aaron Korsh and producer Universal Cable Productions reportedly are developing a spin-off surrounding recently departed cast member Gina Torres. No details were given about the project. Her character, Jessica Pearson, was last seen "heading to Chicago to start a new life with her ex Malone (DB Woodside)." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED KOURTNEY KANG PROJECT (NBC) - Paula Abdul is set to play a "fun, imaginary friend version of herself" in the comedy pilot, about what it's like to grow up as the only girl (Isabella Russo) in the only mixed race family (Kenneth Choi, Rebecca Creskoff) in the suburbs of Philadelphia in 1988. "She deals with real-world issues like race and gender while never losing focus of her life goal: to become a Laker Girl like her idol Paula Abdul." (Deadline.com)
YOUNG & HUNGRY (Freeform) - Tim Rock, the real-life husband of co-star Aimee Carrero, will guest star on the series as "a dentist with whom Sofia is set up on a blind date." (Deadline.com)
