"The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" Names Gina Yashere as Newest Contributor

NEW YORK, March 16, 2017 - The Daily Show with Trevor Noah adds Gina Yashere as the latest contributor to join "The Best F#@ing News Team." She was tapped by Executive Producer, Writer and Host, Trevor Noah to make her first appearance on the show tonight, Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT with an in-studio desk piece.

Yashere (@ginayashere) was born & raised in London UK, of Nigerian parents, and previously worked as an elevator engineer for Otis. Gina has been a stand-up comedian and television star in the UK for several years now, appearing on iconic British TV shows such as Live At The Apollo and Mock The Week, as well as creating & performing popular comedic characters on The Lenny Henry Show. Yashere broke into the American comedy scene when she made it to the top ten on Last Comic Standing, and since then has made The States her home. She went on to be named one of the top ten rising talents by the The Hollywood Reporter, is the only British comedian to ever appear on the Def Comedy Jam, has appeared on @midnight with Chris Hardwick, The Tonight Show and Crashing and had a one-hour on Showtime titled Skinny B*tch. Yashere's most recent special, Gina Yashere: Ticking Boxes, was filmed at the famed 02 Academy in London in front of over 2000 of her fans and is currently streaming on SeeSo TV.

Yashere has fans all over the world having performed to sold-out crowds in the US, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The UK's Black Entertainment & Comedy Awards named her "Best Comedian" four years in a row and she has performed several times at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festivals in Montreal and Toronto. Yashere currently resides in New York and tours non-stop around the world. She is represented by Don Buchwald & Associates and managed by Jodi Lieberman at JLC Entertainment Group.
