WHEN THE OUTSIDE WORLD COMES TO TANANA "YUKON MEN" MUST FIGHT TO PRESERVE THEIR WAY OF LIFE

The sixth season returns to Discovery Friday, April 21 at 9PM ET/PT

(Los Angeles) - Deep in the remote interior of Alaska, 130 miles from the nearest city stands Tanana, a town on the brink of civilization. Since its founding, the only way in or out was by boat or plane, but all of that is about to change. After years of isolation, a controversial new road connects the village to Fairbanks for the first time and villagers must face their greatest threat yet, the outside world. Discovery's hit series YUKON MEN returns for its sixth season Friday, April 21st at 9 PM ET/PT.

Last fall, the largest wildfire in the country nearly wiped Tanana off the map. Half a million acres of prized hunting and trapping land were incinerated. Now, the Yukon Men battle their toughest and most unpredictable season ever. While rebuilding in the aftermath of the fire devastation and coping with changing weather patterns, residents face a new uncertainty; their fellow man. The new road gives outside trophy hunters access to Tanana's sacred land and resources. With their way of life under attack, the villagers must find ways to survive this unstoppable invasion.

This season digs deeper into the life of each Yukon family like never before. For many villagers, the future of Tanana is uncertain. Will the residents embrace change or will external forces end a way of life dating back hundreds of years?

YUKON MEN is produced for Discovery Channel by Paper Route where Alan LaGarde and Nick Guettler are Executive Producers. Dave Freed is Executive Producer and Brian Peterson is Coordinating Producer for Discovery Channel.
