CLAWS (TNT) - Jimmy Jean-Louis is slated to recur on the series as Dr. Gregory Ruval, "a love interest of Niecy Nash's character." (Deadline.com)
HAPPY VALLEY (HBO) - The pay channel's long-in-the-works docudrama about the Penn State football scandal - starring Al Pacino as Joe Paterno - is back on track with Barry Levinson now on board to direct. He succeeds Brian De Palma on the project, which was originally set up in 2014. Debora Cahn, John C. Richards and David McKenna are now the credited co-writers with Levinson, Tom Fontana, Jason Sosnoff, Edward R. Pressman, Rick Nicita and Lindsay Sloane executive producing. (Deadline.com)
HOMECOMING (New!) - Julia Roberts is reportedly in talks to star in Sam Esmail's proposed drama - "a political thriller that centers on a caseworker at a secret government facility" - from Universal Cable Productions. (Deadline.com)
JACK RYAN (Amazon) - Amir El-Masry has scored a role on the upcoming drama as Ibrahim, "the most trusted member of Suleiman's (Ali Suliman) sect, though softer and more cerebral than his cohorts." (Deadline.com)
JALEN VS. EVERYBODY (ABC) - Sibling ESPN plans to broadcast the Jalen Rose-led comedy pilot, which didn't make the Alphabet's 2017-18 schedule, this Tuesday at 7:30/6:30c. (@djacoby)
LAW & ORDER TRUE CRIME (NBC) - Julianne Nicholson has been tapped to play Jill Lansing, "Abramson's (Edie Falco) whip-smart and trusted partner on the defense team, responsible for representing Lyle (Gaston Villanueva)." (Deadline.com)
MAN WITH A PLAN (CBS) - Ethan Sandler and Adrian Wenner ("New Girl") have joined the show's second season as co-executive producers. Said development is part of a new overall deal the duo signed with CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
TAKEN (NBC) - Greg Plageman ("Person of Interest") has signed on as the new showrunner of the series. He takes over from Alexander Cary. (Deadline.com)
