Turner's truTV announced today a second season greenlight for its scripted comedy, I'm Sorry which has emerged as the summer's breakout new comedy series and fastest growing comedy of 2017*. Created by and starring Andrea Savage, the series has been a hit, delivering consistent ratings growth and generating strong social buzz and high praise from press and fans alike. I'm Sorry follows seemingly confident, together comedy writer, wife and mom Andrea (played by Savage), who comically exposes her inner immaturity and neuroses through unexpected life situations, along with her more straitlaced husband Mike (Tom Everett Scott), and their inquisitive daughter Amelia (Olive Petrucci). Season two of the half-hour comedy will return to truTV in 2018.

"Andrea tells relatable and hysterical stories in a way that's genuine to her comedic point of view. She's got a refreshing take on the awkward, hilarious moments that we all experience as grownups and it's clearly resonating with viewers," said Marissa Ronca, executive vice president and head of programming for truTV. "We're thrilled to be partnering with her on a second season."

Since its debut on July 12, I'm Sorry has been a huge success for truTV. Called "razor-sharp" by The New York Times, "funny and grounded" by the Los Angeles Times, and "one of the year's best new comedies" by IndieWire, the series has demonstrated consistent growth each week, growing its audience 32% since its premiere week and delivering an average of 454,000 total viewers in P2+ and 306,000 viewers in A18-49 in Live +3 each week. Additionally, the network's pre-linear strategy resulted in massive awareness of the series before its premiere by making the pilot episode available which garnered more than 15.4 million total video starts across digital and social platforms. The series' hashtag (#ImSorryTV) has generated more than 50 million total impressions on Twitter and more than 31 million video views and 98 million impressions on Facebook.

"I couldn't be more ecstatic to continue to apologize to all of my closest friends and family for bringing even more humiliation upon us," said Savage.

I'm Sorry is executive produced by Savage, Joey Slamon, Gloria Sanchez's Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell & Adam McKay and Lonely Island's Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer. New episodes debut Wednesdays at 10pm ET/PT on truTV and the season one finale is set for Wednesday, September 6. truTV will air a season one catch-up marathon on Monday, September 4 beginning at 2pm ET/PT - and fans can catch up anytime on VOD and the Watch truTV app.
