In the aftermath of their explosive separation, Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Robert (Thomas Haden Church) are learning to rebuild their lives independently, even as they stay entangled through their kids and mutual friends. Focusing on careers, new relationships and finding ways to be happy again, they learn that pursuing the next chapter will be more complicated than they imagined.

Starring Sarah Jessica Parker (Emmy(R) and Golden Globe winner for HBO's "Sex and the City"), who also serves as an executive producer, DIVORCE returns for its eight-episode second season SUNDAY, JAN. 14 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. Thomas Haden Church (Emmy(R) winner and Golden Globe nominee for "Broken Trail," Oscar(R) nominee for "Sideways") also stars in addition to serving as a producer on the series.

DIVORCE also features Molly Shannon (Emmy(R) nominee for HBO's "Enlightened" and "Saturday Night Live") as Diane, Frances' over-eager friend, whose investment in Frances' new gallery tests their friendship, even as Diane adjusts to a new normal at home with her husband, Nick (Tracy Letts). Talia Balsam ("Mad Men") plays Dallas, Frances' close friend, a divorced psychologist who is determined to extricate herself from a secret affair with Tony (Dean Winters), Robert's divorce attorney. Sterling Jerins ("World War Z") plays Lila, Frances and Robert's complicated teenage daughter, and Charlie Kilgore ("Moonrise Kingdom") is Tom, their 16-year-old son.

Also appearing this season are Becki Newton ("How I Met Your Mother") as Jackie Giannopolis, Robert's new sparkplug of a girlfriend, Steven Pasquale ("The Good Wife") as Andrew Wallace, Diane's friend, who will get involved with Frances, and Amy Sedaris ("Strangers with Candy") as Robert's off-kilter sister, Cathy.

Episode #11 (season 2, episode 1): "Night Moves"

Debut date: SUNDAY, JAN. 14 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT)

After finally signing divorce papers, a financially strapped Robert (Thomas Haden Chruch) looks for work and a new living situation, while Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) battles insomnia and her newly complex relationship with her children. Diane (Molly Shannon) and Nick's (Tracy Letts) new communication technique leads him to make an unexpected decision. Dallas (Talia Balsam) continues her secret fling with Robert's lawyer, Tony Silvercreek (Dean Winters).

Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) is forced to deal with Lila's (Sterling Jerins) growing resentment toward her. After his coworkers encourage him to get back in the game, Robert (Thomas Haden Chruch) reconnects with Janice (Gillian Vigman), who tries to help him live out a fantasy. Diane (Molly Shannon) blindsides Frances with a setup, and Dallas (Talia Balsam) attempts to call things off with Tony Silvercreek (Dean Winters).

Diane (Molly Shannon) attempts to ignore her issues with Nick (Tracy Letts) by throwing herself into the gallery. Sparks fly when Robert (Thomas Haden Church) shows his house to a realtor (Becki Newton).

Episode #14 (season 2, episode 4): "Ohio"

When Robert's dad falls ill, Robert (Thomas Haden Church) and Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) reunite in Ohio, where they reminisce about happier times, and deal with Robert's overbearing sister, Cathy (Amy Sedaris). Back in Hastings-on-Hudson, Tom (Charlie Kilgore) jumps at the chance to chauffeur Diane (Molly Shannon) around town in her luxury car.

Frances weighs how serious her new relationship with Andrew (Steven Pasquale) should be. Jackie (Becki Newton) seeks out Dallas' (Talia Balsam) advice during a chance encounter at Diane's country club.

Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) spots the dashing art bigwig Skip Zakarian (Marton Csokas) at an auction, and takes the opportunity to invite him to Sylvia's (Roslyn Ruff) upcoming show, where he shows interest in more than art. A successful sale inspires Jackie (Becki Newton) to propose that she and Robert (Thomas Haden Church) team up on a house-flipping business, but he has qualms about the idea.

Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) faces the fallout of a successful opening at her gallery, and enlists Robert's help with a home-repair project. A returned favor from Frances sets Diane (Molly Shannon) on a bender, which comes back to haunt her at another eventful party.
