PARAMOUNT NETWORK TEAMS UP WITH mitú TO DEVELOP "BROWNTOWN," A BOLD NEW URBAN SKETCH COMEDY SERIES TOLD THROUGH A FRESH AND FEARLESS LATINO P.O.V.

New York, NY, December 13, 2017 - Paramount Network has joined forces with mitú, the leading digital media brand for Latino millennials to develop a provocative sketch comedy series, "BROWNTOWN," as part of mitú's efforts to double down on development and long-form content.

Featuring a prominent multicultural cast of emerging comics, improv actors, popular social influencers and celebrity cameos, "BROWNTOWN," will be set in a fictional, predominantly Latino neighborhood, designed to reflect today's diverse America. Each half-hour episode will feature signature recurring characters from the "BROWNTOWN" neighborhood, and revolve around a central theme designed to bring awareness and celebrate issues that are especially relevant to Latino youth in America. Episodes will consist of studio-based sketches, digital shorts, music parodies, animated shorts, and more. Cast details to be announced at a later date.

mitu's co-founders Doug Greiff and Beatriz Acevedo will executive produce the series based on a format Greiff created to put Latinos and comedians front and center in media. As the leading voice of Latino youth in America, BROWNTOWN exemplifies mitú's ongoing commitment to open doors and create opportunities for the next generation of diverse talent and storytellers, bringing fresh voices and faces to media. Last week, mitú announced the restructuring of its development, production and talent teams led by former Universal / One Race Films Executive, David Ortiz.
