REGGIE WATTS IS THE TASKMASTER! COMEDY CENTRAL(R) GAME SHOW SERIES PREMIERES FRIDAY, APRIL 27 AT 11:00 P.M. WITH TWO BACK-TO-BACK EPISODES

Taskmaster is hosted by Reggie Watts and co-hosted by Alex Horne

Competitors include Freddie Highmore, Dillon Francis, Kate Berlant, Lisa Lampanelli, and Ron Funches

NEW YORK, March 23, 2018- Comedy Central announced today that its newest game show series Taskmaster, hosted by Reggie Watts (The Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Bang! Bang!), will premiere on Friday, April 27 at 11:00 p.m. The series, whose format originated in the U.K., requires individuals to use ingenuity and creativity to complete unusual challenges. Throughout the season, Watts and his co-host, Alex Horne, judge five unwitting contestants which include Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel), Kate Berlant (High Maintenance, Search Party), Dillon Francis (DJ, Record Producer), Lisa Lampanelli (stand-up and insult comic), and Ron Funches (Trolls, Undateable) as they compete independently against each other in a series of stupefying tasks. Taskmaster will air two back-to-back episodes on Fridays at 11pm ET/PT for four weeks.

During the half hour game show, Watts and Horne set a series of tasks and award points based on what they did and how they did it. At the end of each episode, the contender that has accrued the most points will win a prized possession that either they or their competitors have offered up. At the end of the season, the player with the most points overall will win a trophy and become the ultimate champion of Taskmaster. Taskmaster is based on the BAFTA and Royal Television Society award-nominated, internationally popular U.K. format. The British series won for Best Entertainment Show at the Comedy.co.uk Awards in 2016 and 2017 and was nominated in 2017 for International Emmy for non-scripted entertainment.

Episodes of Taskmaster will be available the day of premiere on the Comedy Central App and cc.com. In addition, episodes will launch the day after each linear premiere on iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, VUDU, Verizon Flexview, Microsoft Movies & TV and Sony Playstation. For a look at the show, fans can head to cc.com or follow along on Comedy Central's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for web exclusive video, behind the scenes moments with the cast and shareable content inspired by the show.

Executive Produced by Watts, Horne, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, David Martin, James Taylor, Jon Thoday, Kara Baker and Andy Devonshire, who also directs. Kellyn Parker, Adam Londy and Jordan Ellner are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.
