ARRANGED (Pop, New!) - Aline Brosh McKenna and Sono Patel are set to team for a new half-hour comedy at the cable channel about "two best friends who end up in a marriage of convenience." Brosh McKenna will likewise direct the project for CBS TV Studios, home to her overall deal. (Deadline.com)
V-WARS (Netflix, New!) - Ian Somerhalder is attached to star in a small screen take on Jonathan Maberry's bestselling book at the streaming service, about Dr. Luther Swann (Somerhalder), "who enters a world of untold horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne, into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans. As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps pitting normal people against the growing number of these "vampires." Swann races against time to understand what's happening, while Fayne rises to become the powerful underground leader of the vampires." Showrunners William Laurin and Glenn Davis are behind the 10-episode series with Brad Turner directing the pilot and likewise executive producing alongside IDW Entertainment's David Ozer and Ted Adams and High Park Entertainment's Eric Birnberg and Thomas Walden. WRONG MANS, THE (Showtime, New!) - Ben Schwartz is set to star in a domestic take on James Corden and Matthew Baynton's U.K. single-camera comedy, about "two ordinary office workers (one played by Ben Schwartz) who have their menial existence turned upside-down by a chance phone call and a case of mistaken identity: "If you are not here by 5 o'clock, we will kill your wife." As the only people who can help, these two unlikely characters must find their inner hero in their quest to save not just themselves, but their loved ones and ultimately their whole town." Baynton and Fulwell 73 Productions' Corden, who starred in the original series, will co-write the script alongside Ian Maxtone-Graham with original series' director Jim Field Smith also set to helm the project, which has a pilot production commitment. J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson will likewise executive produce via their Warner Bros. TV-based Bad Robot Productions. (Deadline.com)
