ARROW (The CW) - Co-executive producer Beth Schwartz has been tapped as showrunner of the recently ordered seventh season. She'll take over from departing executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle. Guggenheim is likewise stepping down as co-showrunner "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," leaving Phil Klemmer as its sole showrunner. He will however remain an executive consultant on both series. L.A.'S FINEST (NBC) - Co-star/executive producer Gabrielle Union has signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures TV, the studio behind the NBC drama pilot. The pact gives the company first crack at Union's I'll Have Another banner's output. (Deadline.com)
PERIPHERAL, THE (Amazon, New!) - Writer Scott B. Smith and director Vincenzo Natali are spearheading a small screen take on William Gibson's novel at Amazon Studios about Flynne Fisher, "a woman in a near future America in which technology has started to subtly alter society. Flynne discovers a hidden connection to a very different reality - and the dark future of her own." Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy and Athena Wickham are also on board to executive produce via their Warner Bros. TV-based Kilter Films, as is Steven Hoban. (Deadline.com)
RAY DONOVAN (Showtime) - Domenick Lombardozzi and Lola Glaudini have both booked season-long arcs on the series as Sean "Mac" McGrath, "a Staten Island cop who develops a strong friendship with Ray (Liev Schreiber)"; and Anita Novak, "an attorney who is running for mayor of New York City with the backing of Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon)." REVERIE (NBC) - Writer/producer Erika Green Swafford has signed a two-year overall deal with Universal TV, home to her upcoming drama at NBC. (Deadline.com)
