LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:
Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!
CATASTROPHE (Amazon) - Michaela Watkins has been cast as the sister of Rob Delaney's character on the show's fourth season, due later this year. (Deadline.com)
FIX, THE (ABC) - Corey Miller has joined the upcoming drama as part of a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios. The writer/producer will also develop new series projects for the studio. (Deadline.com)
MILLION LITTLE THINGS, A (ABC) - Grace Park has joined the cast of the upcoming drama, about a group of friends from Boston who bonded under unexpected circumstances. She'll play Katherine, replacing Anne Son from the original pilot. (Deadline.com)
NO SLEEP 'TIL CHRISTMAS (A.K.A. SLEEPING TOGETHER) (Freeform) - Real-life husband and wife Dave and Odette Annable are set to star in the movie, an unexpected and whimsical holiday rom-com about Billy and Lizzie, two insomniac strangers plagued by exhaustion. After a brief meeting, they discover that they can only fall asleep if they are sleeping next to each other. What seems like an odd coincidence, and frankly a disruption to their lives, might be more meaningful than they'd like to admit. Phil Traill is directing from a script he co-wrote with Steve Smith as well as executive produces alongside Cameron Johann and Brent Shields. (Deadline.com)
NOS4A2 (AMC) - Olafur Darri Olafsson, Virginia Kull and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are the first to be cast in the supernatural horror drama, about Vic McQueen, a young, working class artist who discovers she has a supernatural ability to track the seemingly immortal Charlie Manx. Manx feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland - a twisted Christmas Village of Manx's imagination where every day is Christmas day and unhappiness is against the law. Olafsson will play Bing Partridge, "a hard worker with a mysterious past and an impressionable mind"; with Kull as Linda McQueen, "Vic's tough, blue-collar mom determined to hold her family together and protect her daughter"; and Moss-Bachrach as Chris McQueen, "Vic's charming, blue-collar dad with a weakness for drink but a deep love for his daughter." (Deadline.com)
STEPS (ABC) - Producer ABC Studios has extended the options on the principal cast members of the single-camera comedy pilot, about four adults in three houses raising three kids after two divorces... and ultimately forming one big, weird family. Ginnifer Goodwin, Kyle Bornheimer, Barry Rothbart, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Julie Hagerty and Cameron Boyce co-star. Writer Kristin Newman is retooling the script to the project, which is based on the Swedish drama series "Bonus Family." (Deadline.com)
SWAT (CBS) - Patrick St. Esprit's Robert Hicks, "a senior LAPD official with the Special Operations Bureau," has been named series regular for the upcoming sophomore run. (Deadline.com)
