BIG DEAL (Showtime, New!) - Vanessa Bayer is set to star in a single-camera comedy at the pay channel about "a woman (Bayer) who overcomes childhood leukemia to achieve her lifelong dream of becoming an on-air host at a home shopping network." Bayer will co-write the half-hour alongside Jeremy Beiler with Michael Showalter attached to direct. Said trio will executive produce alongside Jessi Klein, Semi-Formal Productions' Jordana Mollick and Annapurna Television's Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle with Ali Krug as a co-executive producer. COOL KIDS, THE (FOX) - Lesley Ann Warren will guest on the freshman comedy as "a widow in Margaret's bereavement support group - which is apparently a great place to hit on single women, as Margaret agrees to help set her fellow griever up with Charlie." (TVLine.com)

FARGO (FX) - Warren Littlefield's The Warren Littlefield Company has signed an overall deal with the cable/steaming-centered Fox 21 Television Studios and broadcast-focused 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
GLAMOROUS (The CW, New!) - Jordon Nardino has booked a new drama at the netlet about "a recent gender non-conforming high school graduate who lands the gig of a lifetime interning at the Manhattan cosmetics company whose products he panned on YouTube. But not everyone is happy to have him there, and they are doing everything they can to take him down." Damon Wayans, Jr. will also executive produce the CBS Television Studios-based project via his Two Shakes banner (which has a first look deal with the studio) while the company's Kameron Tarlow co-executive producing. STAR TREK: DISCOVERY (CBSAA) - A spin-off series featuring Michelle Yeoh's Philippa Georgiou is reportedly in discussions at the streaming service. The project "looks likely to focus on a continuation of her Discovery Season 2 adventures in Starfleet's Section 31 division." No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
STRONG GIRL (The CW, New!) - Melissa Scrivner-Love has sold a domestic take on the Korean series to the netlet, which "follows a former war photographer named Rayna who discovers she is indestructible and potentially the strongest woman in the world. Ghosted by her Spec Ops fiance when she reveals her newfound power to him, Rayna is hired as a bodyguard by a billionaire named Oliver, who sees her true potential." CBS Television Studios is behind the hour with Ronda Rousey and Propagate Content's Ben Silverman also attached as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
SURVEILLANCE (CBS) - Matthew Modine has signed onto the Sophia Bush-led drama pilot as Man in a Red Tie, "a high level and mysterious government operative whose identity and true mission is shrouded in secrecy." (Deadline.com)
TOWNIES (CBS, New!) - Katie Greenway has sold a multi-camera comedy to the Eye about "an eclectic group of friends in their twenties who are happily living large in their small Wisconsin hometown." Jared Stern is executive producing the project via his Warner Bros. Television-based A Stern Talking to Productions with Greenway serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
WITNESSES (FOX, New!) - Melissa Scrivner-Love has set up a potential drama at the network based on the French format about "35-year-old (yet still rookie) Detective Sandra Perkins finds herself working the worst homicide the region has seen in over a decade. In order to end this killer's spree, Sandra must seek answers from Helen Lane, retired Homicide Detective who should have been Sandra's mentor, but who is actually the reason Sandra left the force years ago." Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Paul Shapiro and Stampede's Greg Silverman will also executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
