ADAPTED (FOX, New!) - Mary Fitzgerald, Arthur Harris and Angela Nissel are set to team for a single-camera comedy at the network about "14-year-old Alex, who, after refusing to move from Las Vegas to Philadelphia so that his neglectful mother can re-marry yet again, convinces his African American neighbors to adopt him." Like Minded Entertainment's Mark Kassen and Gaspin Media's Jeff Gaspin and Tony Sabistina are also on board to executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television with Sarah Adina as a co-executive producer and Omar Dzlieri, who inspired the project, as a consultant. BEAST MODE (TNT) - Geffri Maya is the latest addition to the Anika Noni Rose-led drama pilot as Kerry, "Marsha's (Rose) daughter and the woman who essentially runs the gym while her mother trains the fighters. Kerry loves her family but is growing increasingly frustrated by her mom's ego." (Deadline.com)
DOLLY PARTON'S HEARTSTRINGS (Netflix) - Colin O'Donoghue, Willa Fitzgerald, David Denman, Mac Davis and Vanessa Rubio have all been cast in the anthology's "J.J. Sneed" episode. "Set in the 1880s, the episode centers around a feisty young woman trapped in a mundane existence who dreams of more, until a seductive outlaw pulls her into the adventure of a lifetime." O'Donoghue plays the title role with Fitzgerald as Maddie, Denman as Deke Fletcher, Davis as Reverend Riggs and Rubio as Cimmaron. (Deadline.com)
FILTHY RICH (FOX) - The network has given a pilot order to its long-in-the-works import of the New Zealand series, described as "a larger than life Southern Gothic dramedy which revolves around two strong, sharp women who will go to any length to protect their loved ones and get their due." Tate Taylor penned the script and is set to direct and executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television. Wyolah Films' John Norris and Imagine Television's Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo are also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
LOCKE & KEY (Netflix) - Connor Jessup and Emilia Jones have both been cast in the project's Netflix incarnation, a horror/fantasy series that revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. They'll play said siblings, Tyler and Kinsey Locke, respectively, joining Jackson Robert Scott, who returns as Bode from the Hulu version. (Deadline.com)
LOVE IS ___ (OWN) - The cable channel has opted not to proceed with the show's planned second season following allegations - including domestic violence and lifting the idea for the series from an ex-lover - against executive producer Salim Akil. The show's cast and producers however will all be paid for the second season under contractual obligations. (Deadline.com)
LYLE & CAROLINE (FOX, New!) - Eric and Justin Stangel have sold an animated comedy to the network billed as "a family show driven by the friendship of Lyle & Caroline - a surrogate grandparent/grandchild bond forms in an unexpected way." Lionsgate Television is behind the project, which has a received a script commitment plus a presentation order. Lisa Kudrow is attached to voice Caroline, the high school-aged grandchild, as well as executive produce alongside the Stangels and 3 Arts Entertainment's David Miner. (Deadline.com)
SPINNING OUT (Netflix) - Evan Roderick has been cast in the figure skating drama as Justin, Kat's (Kaya Scodelario) talented bad-boy partner. "On and off the ice, Kat and Justin will face daunting odds, injury to body and soul, financial sacrifice, and even potential mental breakdown on their way to realizing their Olympic dream. Justin's wild party-boy antics have long been overlooked due to his Olympic-level skating abilities. When he teams up with Kat, he finds he has finally met his match on and off the ice." TALES (BET) - Rick Ross, Bella Thorne, Scarface, DeRay Davis and Grace Byers are among those set to visit the second season, due on Tuesday, April 23. Among this season's installments: Mary J. Blige's "My Life," Nas' "I Gave You Power," Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow," Lauryn Hill's "Ex Factor," Geto Boys' "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," Migos and Gucci Mane's "Slippery," Lil Uzi Vert's "XO TOUR Llif3," and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's "Deep Cover." WHO IS AMERICA? (Showtime) - Sacha Baron Cohen has indicated the series will not return for a second season due to the public's awareness of the show. "I will never be able to get a politician to bare his buttocks while screaming 'God bless America!' and screaming the N-word," he told the publication. (THR.com)
WILL & GRACE (NBC) - Reid Scott will drop by the current season as Marcus, "a Michelin star chef who decides to leave behind his high-stress job in the culinary world and prepares to embark on an adventure. While waiting for his flight at the airport, he meets Grace and tempts her to join him." (EW.com)
