ADAM & EVE (FOX, New!) - Jon Beckerman has scored a pilot order from the network and 20th Century Fox Television for a single-camera comedy. Claude Meunier and Luc Wiseman of Avanti Groupe also executive produce the half-hour, formally detailed as follows: "Based on the French-Canadian format, ADAM & EVE follows one couple at three stages of their relationship -- young and passionate, middle-aged with kids, and navigating retirement. It's a comedy about the big questions: What makes a marriage last? Do people ever really change? And, after 40 years together, why can't we pick a place for dinner without it turning into a whole, you know, "thing?""
BEWITCHED (ABC) - The Alphabet has pushed its reboot of the 1964-1972 series to off-cycle development "to do more work on the script with the same creative team." Kenya Barris and Yamara Taylor penned the pilot script for ABC Studios and Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)
DANCING WITH THE STARS (ABC) - Incoming ABC entertainment president Karey Burke told reporters at the TCA Winter Press Tour the dancing competition series will "definitely be returning in the fall." Season 27 wrapped back in November. (Deadline.com)
DEPUTY (FOX) - Writer Will Beall and director David Ayer have received the green light to produce a pilot for the eOne-based drama. The show's logline is as follows: "Deputy Bill Hollister is a career lawman who's very comfortable kicking down doors and utterly lost in a staff meeting. But when the LA County Sheriff drops dead, Bill becomes acting sheriff of Los Angeles County, in charge of 10,000 sworn deputies policing a modern Wild West."
INTERROGATION (CBSAA) - Kyle Gallner has been cast in a key role on the upcoming drama, based on a true story that spanned more than 30 years, in which a young man was charged and convicted of brutally murdering his mother. He'll play the young man in question. (Deadline.com)
LOUDEST VOICE IN THE ROOM, THE (Showtime) - Barry Watson has been cast as Lachlan Murdoch in the upcoming Russell Crowe-led limited series. Watson's Lachlan Murdoch "is the son of Rupert Murdoch (and the heir apparent) - educated, polite and business savvy, he is not in agreement with Roger's managerial practices." (Deadline.com)
MACGYVER (CBS) - Levy Tran has been tapped for a recurring role on the series as Desiree "Desi" Nguyen, "who joins the Phoenix Foundation to protect MacGyver (Lucas Till) and his team on their global missions." (Deadline.com)
neXt (FOX) - Manny Coto's drama has been ordered to pilot by the network. Directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra also serve as executive producers on the 20th Century Fox Television project as does Zaftig Films' Charlie Gogolak. The logline is as follows: "A propulsive, fact-based thriller grounded in the latest A.I. research, neXt features a brilliant but paranoid former tech CEO who joins a Homeland Cybersecurity Agent and her team to stop the world's first artificial intelligence crisis: the emergence of a rogue AI with the ability to continuously improve itself. Marrying pulse-pounding action with a layered examination of how technology is invading our lives and transforming us in ways we don't yet understand, the series also presents us with a villain like we've never seen before, one whose greatest weapon against us is ourselves."
UNTITLED ALLAN HEINBERG MARVEL PROJECT (ABC) - The Alphabet has opted not to proceed with the Allan Heinberg-penned Marvel Comics drama, about female characters with superpowers. ABC gave the project a pilot production commitment back in September. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED TOM KAPINOS DRAMA (A.K.A. LET'S SPEND THE NIGHT TOGETHER) (FOX) - Writer Tom Kapinos and director Sanaa Hamri have likewise scored a firm go to produce a pilot for the drama. 20th Century Fox Television and Endemol Shine North America are both behind the hour, with the logline as follows: "UNTITLED TOM KAPINOS DRAMA is a structurally inventive dramedy, in which the entire first season takes place over the course of single night at a wedding. As we get to know the wedding party, we'll learn surprising reveals about both their present and past. We'll see that things aren't always what they seem and explore the complicated bonds of love, friendship and family at different stages of life. Inspired by the series Quadras, from Endemol Shine France."
