ATYPICAL (Netflix) - Creator Robia Rashid has signed a new three-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television, the studio behind the comedy series. (Deadline.com)
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (NBC) - Sean Astin will drop by the show's April 25 installment as "a sergeant in the NYPD Cyber Operations Unit who aids the Nine-Nine in the case." (EW.com)
CASTLE ROCK (Hulu) - Paul Sparks is bound for the show's second season as John "Ace" Merrill, "Castle Rock's legendary bully." He replaces Garrett Hedlund, who was originally tapped for the role. His scenes will be reshot with Sparks. (Deadline.com)
CHAMPAIGN ILL/DO YOU WANT TO SEE A DEAD BODY/RYAN HANSEN SOLVES CRIMES ON TELEVISION/SIDESWIPED (YouTube) - The company has axed all four of the aforementioned scripted entries. (Variety.com)
DOLLFACE (Hulu) - Shay Mitchell has been cast in the upcoming comedy series as Stella Cole, "Madison's (Brenda Song) other best friend from college, free spirit, and charming hedonist." She replaces the originally cast Lex Scott Davis. (Deadline.com)
DROPOUT, THE (Hulu, New!) - Kate McKinnon is attached to star in a potential six-to-10 episode limited series for the streaming service about the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and her company, Theranos. McKinnon will play the disgraced wunderkind entrepreneur Holmes and will executive produce alongside ABC News/ABC Radio's "The Dropout" podcast host/creator Rebecca Jarvis for Fox Searchlight's television division. Taylor Dunn and Victoria Thompson will also receive producing credits. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
FUTURE MAN (Hulu) - Co-creators Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir have inked a two-year overall deal with the studio behind the series, Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)
HAWKEYE PROJECT (Disney+, New!) - Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye is the latest Marvel character on tap for a potential series on the upcoming streaming service. Said effort is billed as "an adventure series in which Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, will pass the torch to Kate Bishop." No auspices however were given. (Variety.com)
PLOT AGAINST AMERICA, THE (HBO) - David Simon and Ed Burns's small screen take on Philip Roth's 2004 alternate American history novel has cast Winona Ryder as Evelyn Finkel, who is "hungry to find her own place in life"; Zoe Kazan as Elizabeth "Bess" Levin, "an insightful mother and homemaker"; Morgan Spector as Herman Levin, "the proud and opinionated father"; Anthony Boyle as Alvin Levin, "the angry and intelligent orphaned nephew to Herman"; Azhy Robertson as Philip Levin, "the youngest of the Levin family"; Caleb Malis as Sandy Levin, "the Levin's artistic teenage son"; and John Turturro as Lionel Bengelsdorf, "a conservative rabbi and a transplant from Charleston, S.C." SWAT (CBS) - Executive producer Aaron Rahsaan Thomas has signed a new two-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television, the studio home of the CBS series. (Deadline.com)
THIS IS US (NBC) - Justin Hartley has signed a pod deal with the show's producer, 20th Century Fox Television, where he'll develop new series projects via his newly launched company, ChangeUp Productions. Fellow co-stars Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore and Sterling K. Brown have inked similar pacts with the studio. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED OPRAH WINFREY PROJECT (Apple TV+) - Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, is partnering with Oprah Winfrey on her forthcoming multi-part series on mental health. The project will launch in 2020. (Deadline.com)
