COYOTE (Paramount Network, New!) - Emmy-winner Michael Chiklis is attached to star in a potential drama for the cable channel about "Agent Ben Clemens (Chiklis) who, on the day of his mandatory retirement from the United States Border Patrol, discovers an illicit tunnel used to mainline black market goods into the United States from Mexico. This soon puts Clemens in the crosshairs of the criminal mastermind he's spent his career trying to destroy." MacLaren Entertainment's Michelle MacLaren will direct and executive produce alongside Chiklis; writers Josh Gilbert, Michael Carnes, and David Graziano; and Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg for Sony Pictures Television. HEAVEN OF HELL (Paramount Network, New!) - Rodes Fishburne has sold a potential drama to the cable channel billed as "a contemporary southern family saga, told through the eyes of the wife of a prodigal son and his Stanford educated psychiatrist wife who returns home to Mississippi to help run his family business. Searing vertical look at life in the contemporary south and combines strong psychological exploration of characters with deep mystery." Arika Mittman, David Kanter and director John Lee Hancock will also executive produce the project, which is being developed alongside Charter's Spectrum Originals. (Deadline.com)
MARVEL'S GHOST RIDER (Hulu) - Gabriel Luna is set to return as Robbie Reyes (a.k.a. Ghost Rider) in the upcoming Hulu series. Said role however is reportedly "a completely new iteration of the character in no way connected to the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' storyline." (Variety.com)
OMNIVERSE (Showtime, New!) - Jaden Smith is set to star in a potential "limited half-hour anthology series" at the pay channel which "examines the many doors of perception. Season One explores the Ego through an alternate reality Kanye West." Smith will play said Alternate Reality Kanye West as well as executive produce alongside West; SB Projects' Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson; Westbrook Studios' Miguel Melendez; and writer Lee Sung Jin. RESIDENT, THE (FOX) - Co-creator Amy Holden Jones has signed a new overall deal with producer 20th Century Fox Television. The pact covers her duties on the recently ordered third season as well as presumably any future development. (Deadline.com)
WILLOW (Disney+, New!) - A TV series based on Ron Howard's 1988 fantasy film, featuring "a more mature Willow, older and wiser and presumably more fast with weaponry than he once was," is reportedly under consideration at the upcoming streaming service. Jon Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story) is expected to spearhead the project however no specifics were given. MGM distributed the original film and would presumably produce the TV incarnation.
