BEAST MODE/CONSTANCE (TNT) - The network has passed on both drama pilots. Anika Noni Rose starred in the former, inspired by the life of legendary boxing trainer Ann Wolfe, which told the story of a feisty, brilliant-yet-damaged woman with a "kill or be killed" mentality. And Elisabeth Shue toplined the latter, about former beauty queen turned small town bureaucrat, Constance Young, whose life is thrown into turmoil after her husband's mysterious death. (Deadline.com)
BRECKMAN RODEO (Freeform) - The cable channel has passed on the drama pilot, about a group of young rodeo riders in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The show centered on Ashley (Jess Gabor), a rodeo-as-hell sparkplug who refuses to stay within the lines that have been drawn for her, and her boyfriend Brant (Noah Le Gros), a rodeo prodigy torn between a content, quiet life and the rocky climb to superstardom. Brant, Ashley and their friends will have to reconcile the traditional values of their sport and their upbringing with the changing realities of the 21st century. (Deadline.com)
BUSY TONIGHT (E!) - Busy Philipps took to social media over the weekend to reveal the cable channel has pulled the plug on her series. Its final episode is slated for May 16. (@busyphilipps)
EDDY, THE (Netflix) - Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give) has scored a role on Damien Chazelle's upcoming musical drama as Julie, "the teenage daughter of Elliott (Andre Holland) who shows up suddenly in Paris and forces him to face his past." (Deadline.com)
GOOD PLACE, THE (NBC) - Co-executive producer Megan Amram has signed an overall deal with the show's producer, Universal Television. The pact calls for her to develop new series projects for studio. (THR.com)
HOME BEFORE DARK/THAI CAVE RESCUE PROJECT (Apple TV+/Netflix) - Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) has reportedly signed a four-year, mid-seven figure overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television. The pact makes the studio the home to the prolific director's future projects beyond the aforementioned duo. (Deadline.com)
PANDORA (The CW) - Priscilla Quintana has scored the title role on the upcoming summer drama, about Jax (aka Pandora), a resourceful young woman who has lost everything but finds a new life at Earth's Space Training Academy where she and her friends learn to defend the galaxy from threats, both alien and human. Also cast in the project are Oliver Dench (Xander Duvall), Raechelle Banno (Atria Nine), John Harlan Kim (Greg Li), Ben Radcliffe (Ralen), Banita Sandhu (Delaney Pilar), Martin Bobb-Semple (Thomas James Ross) and Noah Huntley (Donovan Osborn).
