ABBY'S/THE ENEMY WITHIN/THE VILLAGE (NBC) - The Peacock has axed all three freshman entries, rounding out the fates of its scripted series from the 2018-19 season. Both "The Enemy Within" and "The Village" wrapped their runs earlier this month while "Abby's" will air its final installment on June 13. (Deadline.com)
BARKSKINS (NGC) - Aneurin Barnard, Thomas M. Wright and Tallulah Haddon are all bound for the period drama. Barnard will star as Hamish Goames, "a polished, clean-cut Hudson Bay Company man in search of his lost comrade"; with Wright as Elisha Cooke, "a cutthroat English barrel maker, who has schemed his way into New France, set on growing the crown's stake in the region"; and Haddon as Melissande, "a sharp-tongued, ambitious Fille Du Roy, a real program where young French woman got to pick a husband (of their choosing) to populate and settle the new land." BH90210 (FOX) - La La Anthony will recur on the summer drama series as Brian Austin Green's wife, Shay, "a superstar hip-hop/pop artist. She is breadwinner of the family while her Mr. Mom husband watches over their three kids. Shay has become used to being the center of attention, but can still be surprisingly down to earth." BRAVE NEW WORLD (USA) - Jessica Brown Findlay is set to star opposite Alden Ehrenreich and Harry Lloyd in the Aldous Huxley adaptation as Lenina Crowne, "a Beta Plus Hatchery worker, who has begun to question her position within the strict social strata of the New World." (Deadline.com)
GROWN-ISH/INSECURE (Freeform/HBO) - Co-creator Larry Wilmore has inked a four-year overall deal with Universal Television, where he'll develop new series projects via his Wilmore Films production company. Wilmore was most recently set up at ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, THE (Amazon) - Cary Elwes and Stephanie Hsu are the latest additions to the show's third season. No details however were given about their roles. They join the previously cast Sterling K. Brown. (Variety.com)
ORVILLE, THE (FOX) - Executive producer Jon Cassar has signed a multi-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television. The pact covers his duties on the series as well as any future development via his Cassar Filmworks banner. (Deadline.com)
PATRICK MELROSE (Showtime) - The auspices behind the Benedict Cumberbatch-led limited series are reportedly mulling a second installment. (Deadline.com)
STAR (FOX) - Co-creator Lee Daniels took to social media with the news the series could not find a new home following its cancellation on May 10. (@theoriginalbigdaddy)
SWEET MAGNOLIAS (Netflix) - Monica Potter, Brooke Elliott and Heather Headley have scored the lead roles on the upcoming drama, about three South Carolina women, best friends since high school, as they shepherd each other through the complexities of romance, career, and family. Potter will play Maddie Townsend, "a low-key but resolute, warm and loving woman with a vocabulary like Southern poetry"; with Elliott as Dana Sue Sullivan, "everyone knows her as the strong-willed owner and head chef of Sullivan's Restaurant, a cherished spot in the town of Serenity"; and Headley as Helen Decatur, "a lawyer who has made it her goal to create an opportunity for the people of Serenity, her hometown." Additionally, Norman Buckley has been tapped as a co-executive producer and will direct six episodes. Dan Paulson, Sheryl J. Anderson and author Sherryl Woods are the executive producers. UNTITLED JOSH REIMS PROJECT (CBS) - Lance Krall's Picture It Productions has signed a two-year first-look deal with CBS Television Studios. The company previously worked on the Josh Reims military medical drama with the studio and Jerry Bruckheimer Productions this past development cycle. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED NATE BARGATZE PROJECT (ABC) - The Alphabet has given an off-cycle pilot order to the multi-camera comedy, which deals with comedian Nate Bargatze's struggle moving back home to Tennessee and being caught between his wife and opinionated parents. The long-in-the-works project, originally set up at FOX and 20th Century Fox Television in 2017, is co-written by Bargatze, Jerrod Carmichael, Ari Katcher and Dan Shaki. Danielle Sanchez-Witzel will serve as showrunner with Drew Goddard set to direct and executive produce alongside the group, Tim Sarkes and Alex Murray of Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
