CASTLE ROCK (Hulu) - Robin Weigert, Sarah Gadon, Alison Wright and Greg Grunberg are the latest bound for the show's sophomore run. Weigert will play Crysilda Wilkes, Annie's mother; with Gadon as Rita Green, "a vengeful woman from Annie's past"; Wright as Valerie, "a kind-hearted local who explores the town's evil history"; and Grunberg as Sheriff Boucher, "a local official, who faces off against a brewing, dark force in Castle Rock." DUMMY (Quibi) - Meredith Hagner has signed onto the Anna Kendrick/Donal Logue-led comedy as Barbara, "an inanimate sex doll. Only able to be heard by Cody (Kendrick), Barbara (a self-proclaimed "feminist") is a spoiled, jealous, and manipulative valley girl who will do whatever it takes to get her way. After she is discarded by her original owner, she convinces Cody to take her home so that she can be the inspiration to help cure Cody's writers block." (Deadline.com)
HALL, THE: HONORING THE GREATS OF STAND-UP (Netflix, New!) - Marty Callner, Randall Gladstein and David Steinber are set to team for a new series in 2020 which "will honor some of stand-up comedy's legendary performers [and] feature the first inductees into a new stand-up Hall of Fame." The induction ceremony will be held in Los Angeles while the actual hall will become a permanent part National Comedy Center in Jamestown, New York. Funny Business, Inc. is producing. (Deadline.com)
TELL ME A STORY (CBSAA) - Matt Lauria, Eka Darville, Ashley Madekwe, Odette Annable and Natalie Alyn Lind have all signed onto the franchise's second season. Lauria will play Jackson, "the black sheep of a family who is torn between his demons and the desire to be a better man." Darville then is "the stoic and honorable Beau, whose adherence to a moral code has recently blown up both his personal and professional life." Madekwe is "the Cinderella-esque Simone who, upon returning home after her father's untimely death, is forced to come face-to-face with the life she purposefully left behind." Annable will play Maddie, "the piece-keeping, overachieving middle child in a broken family"; and Natalie Alyn Lind is Ashley, "a rising country music star who survives a brutal attack, then confines herself to her home."
