He'll play U.S. Marshal Scott Turner, a role originated by Tom Hanks in the movie. The drama's logline: "When an ambitious, buttoned-up U.S. marshal (Peck) inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the pet he didn't want may be the partner he needs." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the project with Matt Nix as an executive producer and Josh Levy as a co-executive producer.
