DEBRIS (NBC) - Jonathan Tucker has been tapped as the male lead in the drama pilot, about "two agents from two different continents and two different mindsets - CIA's Bryan Beneventi (Tucker) and MI6's Finola Jonesmust - work together to investigate when wreckage from a destroyed alien spacecraft has mysterious effects on humankind." Tucker's Beneventi is "a headstrong, smart CIA operative who is working on the investigation of strange occurrences." (Deadline.com)
DIE HART (Quibi) - Nathalie Emmanuel will star opposite Kevin Hart in the upcoming series: "In DIE HART, Kevin Hart plays a fictionalized version of himself who's tired of being the comedic sidekick. He gets his wish when a famous director offers him his dream - to be a leading man action star - but there's a catch: Kevin must first train at the world's greatest action star school, run by a lunatic. Pushed to his limits by this action school coach and a tough-minded rival student (Nathalie Emmanuel) Kevin must survive a series of hilarious, over-the-top action sequences and face his fears if he wants to achieve his dream and land the role of a lifetime." Production for the show begins this month in Atlanta.
ENGLISH, THE (Amazon, New!) - The streaming service has reportedly acquired the North American rights to a multi-part series starring Emily Blunt from the BBC. The project comes from Hugo Blick and producer Drama Republic. No plot specifics were given other than it is a western. (Variety.com)
FIREFLY LANE (Netflix) - Jenna Rosenow is slated to recur on the Katherine Heigel/Sarah Chalke-led drama as Kimber Watts, "the hip editor of the "Seattle Monthly Magazine" and Kate's new boss. She is a young, preoccupied socialite attempting to make a name for herself." (Deadline.com)
MARVEL'S LOKI (Disney+) - Gugu Mbatha-Raw is the latest addition to the Marvel entry in what's being billed as the female lead. As usual, details about the role are being kept under wraps. (Deadline.com)
PROSPECT (ABC) - Hunter King has scored the lead role on the single-camera comedy pilot: "Abigail Lansing is proper, smart, a little awkward and chatty but always positive, friendly and hopeful, with a healthy dose of 19th century feminism. Abigail is a young woman from Boston who is thrilled to be able to set off on her own adventure as a schoolteacher in the western prairie town of Prospect. Somewhat starry-eyed, she envisions herself preparing adorable young children for their future with an education. Abigail discovers when she gets to Prospect that it's not going to be what she thought it was. For one thing, she has to teach adult men, not children, and her living situation is a little more rustic, and awkward, than she expected. Abigail has to rethink some of her expectations but decides with characteristic spunk and optimism that there's good work to be done here in Prospect - on her own terms." (Deadline.com)
SNOWFALL (FX) - Kwame Patterson will recur on the upcoming season as Lurp. No other character details were given. (Deadline.com)
THIRTYSOMETHING(ELSE) (ABC) - Odette Annable is the latest addition to the revival series pilot as Janey Steadman, "the striking spinoff of Hope and Michael. With piercing eyes and unruly dark hair, Janey is a passionate, some might say driven person, possessed of what her boyfriend, Brad, calls a very big engine in a very small car." (Deadline.com)
