GENIUS: ARETHA (NGC) - Tip "T.I." Harris, Antonique Smith, Tina Fears and Ethan Henry are all bound for the anthology's third season. T.I. will play Ken Cunningham, "a fashion designer who approaches Aretha about investing in his Harlem-based business"; with Smith as Barbara Franklin, "Pastor CL Franklin's loving, devoted and always-supportive wife"; Fears as Clara Ward, "the lead performer with the Clara Ward Singers, a prominent Gospel group"; and Henry as Martin Luther King Jr., "a mentee of CL Franklin's." MANDALORIAN, THE (Disney+) - Michael Biehn has been tapped for the show's second season in a top secret role. In addition, Bill Burr will return as Imperial sharpshooter-turned-mercenary Mayfield. (Deadline.com)
MESSIAH (Netflix) - Wil Traval took to Instagram with the news the streaming service will not renew the series for a second season. (@wiltraval)
NEW AMSTERDAM (NBC) - The network has pulled the show's April 7 episode, "Our Doors Are Always Open," which deals with a flu pandemic. Said decision means the next episode to air on April 14 will serve as its season finale. (Deadline.com)
