CLARICE (CBS) - Kenneth Lin has signed an overall deal with CBS Television Studios. The pact calls for him to join the upcoming drama as a co-executive producer as well as develop new series projects. (Deadline.com)
JAMIE: KEEP COOKING AND CARRY ON (Hulu, New!) - The streaming service has scored the U.S. rights to the U.K. series, in which British chef Jamie Oliver "uses kitchen staples to create simple recipes, including bread dough and egg-less brownies." Samantha Beddoes of Jamie Oliver Productions will also executive produce the Fremantle-distributed project, due to launch on July 27. (Deadline.com)
LA COMPLEX (The CW) - The netlet has nixed its reboot of the series, which would have "followed a new group of twentysomething tenants/artists living in Hollywood's Luxe hotel." (TVLine.com)
MISSION HILL (The WB) - Co-creator Bill Oakley took to social media with the news that "Gus & Wally," a spin-off of the short-lived animated series, is being taken out to buyers soon. (@thatbilloakley)
NIKKI FRE$H (Quibi) - The Nicole Richie-led entry has been renewed for a second season. "The world wants more of my voice, my garden, and my body. And I'm gonna give it to them," said Richie of the renewal. (Variety.com)
NINE BODIES IN A MEXICAN MORGUE (Quibi, New!) - Anthony Horowitz has booked a scripted murder-mystery series at the company which "follows the tale of nine strangers who find themselves lost in a remote Mexican jungle after their small plane crashes. The plot thickens as members are murdered one by one and the remaining survivors must solve the mystery." Blumhouse Television is behind the project, with Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold and Marci Wiseman likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
PROSPECT/WILD CHILD/WRECKAGE (ABC) - Decisions about the fates of said trio will be made at a later time. (Deadline.com)
TEN WEEKS (Quibi, New!) - Blumhouse Television has landed another new series at the streaming service. No specifics were given about the project other than it will roll out later this year. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED REVENGE SPIN-OFF PROJECT (ABC) - The network has likewise passed on its proposed sequel series, which would have followed "a young Latina immigrant who arrives in Malibu to exact revenge on a pharmaceutical dynasty that caused the murder of her biochemist mother, the destruction of her family and a global epidemic." (TVLine.com)
VANISHING HALF, THE (HBO, New!) - The pay channel has scored the rights to Brit Bennett's novel, which "focuses on the Vignes sisters, identical twins who, after growing up together in a small, southern black community, run away at age sixteen. It's not just the shape of their daily lives that is different as adults, it's everything: their families, their communities, their racial identities. Ten years later, one sister lives with her black daughter in the same southern town she once tried to escape. The other passes for white, hiding her identity from her husband, who knows nothing of her past. Even separated by so many miles and just as many lies, the fates of the twins remain intertwined. What will happen to the next generation, when their own daughters' storylines intersect?" The low seven-figure deal calls for Bennett to executive produce the resulting project, eyed as a limited series. (Deadline.com)
