AWAY/TALES FROM THE LOOP (Netflix/Amazon) - Matt Reeves and his 6th & Idaho banner have signed a multi-year overall deal Warner Bros. Entertainment. The pact covers all future development from the company. (Deadline.com)
COWBOY BEPOP/LORD OF THE RINGS, THE/SWEET TOOTH (Various) - Crew members of the aforementioned series have been granted permission to enter New Zealand to begin or resume production. Said report indicates "a total of 206 cast and crew members and 35 of their family members will be allowed entrance into the country over the course of six months." (Variety.com, 7/3)
UNTITLED CHAD GERVICH PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Chad Gervich has sold a single-camera comedy to the Alphabet about "two parents, Ted and Mandy, trying to navigate parenthood in L.A. raising a non-binary, gender-fluid child." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the half-hour with Lesley Wake Webster and Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor also executive producing. VIENNA BLOOD (PBS) - The network has renewed the Frank Tallis adaptation for a second season. The U.K.'s BBC Two, Germany's ZDF and Austria's ORF will likewise carry the series. (Deadline.com)
VOICES OF FIRE (Netflix, New!) - Pharrell Williams has set up a project at the streaming service which will "follow the musician's uncle, Bishop Ezekiel Williams, a well-respected musical genius in the area of Hampton Roads, Va., which includes Pharrell's hometown of Virginia Beach. The unscripted series will center around the town, as it builds one of the world's most inspiring gospel choirs." Mimi Valdés, Arthur Smith, Frank Sinton and Bianca Barnes-Williams will executive produce alongside Williams for I Am Other and A. Smith & Co. (Variety.com, 7/5)
